This is a list of published movies of games reviewed by the French Joueur du Grenier, akin to the former page of adelikat's which covered games reviewed by the AVGN. NOTE: If you see the name of a game that's been published on this site, but on a different platform than the version he reviewed, don't add it to the list. For instance, don't add GBC Tintin in Tibet, since he only reviewed the Genesis/Mega Drive version.
(note to self, videos to watch again: 8- and 16-bit sports games (unlikely I'll find any, but who knows); Atari 2600 games; RPGs Parts 1-3; Addams Family videogames; bad fighting games; games based on the Home Alone movies; MARCH 2014 Valentine's Special; games based on the Cool World movie; Star Wars games)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The list below does not include the various Papy Grenier episodes (or anything other than the Joueur du Grenier episodes, for that matter)!

Transformers: Convoy no Nazo (トランスフォーマー コンボイの謎) is about the Autobot Ultra Magnus cruising a very frustrating and difficult journey to discover who killed Optimus Prime. No, I'm serious.
Angry Video Game Nerd covered this game in 2009. Quoting adelikat: As he describes in the video, this game notoriously difficult to play. Poor hit detection, 1 hit and you are dead, awkward controls, and very little in the way of power-ups make this game frustrating for the average player.

WARNING: There is a high amount of flashing lights in the intro and after defeating bosses (at 0:07, 0:41, 1:08, 1:49, 2:25, 2:46, 3:15, 4:01 and 4:22 in the encodes), viewer discretion is advised.

Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt is an extremely fast paced game, which makes it difficult. It is made even more difficult by playing on the hardest setting, which gives Pugsley only one single heart, meaning that he dies in one hit. The movie itself looks very impressive and it really gives the impression that the player knows what he is doing.
This is an improvement of 00:47.58 seconds over the previous movie.

Enemy spies have been sent to buy military weapon technologies from scientists all around the world. Young Indiana Jones has been recruited to infiltrate the meeting locations and prevent the spies from leaving alive.
But Indy doesn't care about the deals and forgets to kill the spies other than the one in England, perhaps thinking, "What the heck, I climbed all the way up to the top of Big Ben; may as well actually defeat the spy this time."
Watch Young Indy blaze through this otherwise uninspiring game with unconventional techniques such as using gear wheels to suddenly appear on another floor and suiciding to avoid fighting bosses.

This is a raptor movie of the Genesis version of Jurassic Park, which is completely different from the SNES version. In this game, you can choose between Grant and the raptor, each with his own set of levels. Grant's levels are like Prince of Persia except with dinosaurs and better weapons. The raptor's levels go by much faster.
The collision detection is quite buggy, and the author takes advantage of this.
This is a 12.34 second improvement on the previous movie, almost all of the improvement coming from better optimization.

Bart goes in search of these ingredients to hide them or to take them, avoiding disaster. His adventure will take him across an amusement park, the shopping mall, and the museum, to name a few.
This is a very hard game. Its controls are very poor, and the collision detection is very glitchy, making you fall through platforms to your death.
This movie beats the previous movie by 2 minutes and 20.9 seconds. Much of it comes from using a "bunny hop" trick.

This infamous game was made by LJN, and although it might be better than many others from that label, it still has serious gameplay flaws that make it frustrating, let alone incredibly difficult. However, it works great for a TAS. Using careful precision and many exploits, the team of jaysmad and Brandon make it through this "Juggernaut" in less than 24 minutes. Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero is a story-driven fighting game that puts you in the shoes of Sub-Zero and chronicles a series of events that occurred prior to the first Mortal Kombat.
You, the Lin Kuei's most cunning assassin, are sent to steal an important document. However, this mission proves to be a test from a mysterious character (who turns out to be MK4's Quan Chi) who charges you upon retrieval of the document to recover an ancient medallion of untold power. Upon your return, Quan Chi reveals that he actually tricked you, and the medallion is the key to awakening the demon Shinnok (yup, the same baddie from MK4). Now a reluctant hero, you must pursue Quan Chi through hell itself hoping you get to Shinnok before him.
Technically speaking, this game represents the final evolutionary step in the MK series' 2D engine. The game takes the familiar 2D Mortal Kombat fighting environment and turns it into a hybrid fighting/platform game, where you must run and jump through hazardous levels as well as fight your way through both digitized and polygonal enemies. Sub-Zero's interface is the same as in every MK game, with the addition of the "use" and "turn around" buttons, an inventory, and a slight RPG twist that gives you EXP for defeating opponents which becomes new techniques and moves to execute in the game.
This is an improvement of an existing run. Besides a set of small improvements, the main differences of this run are a new shortcut in the sixth level and much more qualitative score management. All of this in total allowed Fly to reduce the time of the run by nearly 3 minutes.

In this game you get to control all four turtles and draw use of their different abilities ― or, at least that was the intent, but Donatello has both better reach and damage than the others, so he is used more or less constantly. The game features a well-written in-game dialogue, such as “Here.” and “Oh!”
dreamyao improves the previous movie by 00:08.74 seconds, thanks to improved lag reduction and overall better optimization.

The SNES port of Prince of Persia 2 is generally regarded as a bad port of a very hard platforming puzzle game. The controls are clumsy, the puzzles are seemingly random, and the player dies very easily. The port also leaves out the last level. Fortunately there is a major bug in the game that allows large parts of it to be skipped.
Challenger improves the previous TAS by 1 minute and 19.01 seconds, thanks to better optimisation and new discoveries. Please read the author's comments for more details.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is an action-adventure video game created for the NES by Rare in 1989. The game loosely follows the movie as the player wanders around Hollywood collecting items and figuring out Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Aloysha and Arc improve the previous TAS by 1.25 seconds thanks to better optimization of the final boss fight. For more details, read the authors' comments here and here.

Created by a Japanese comedian who hated video games, Takeshi no Chousenjou (also referred to as Takeshi's Challenge) is a parody of video games in a similar vein to Penn & Teller's Smoke and Mirrors. The game was meant to be near impossible to complete. Rumor has it that at one point the player must leave the controller untouched for 1 hour and fight a "final boss" with over a million hit-points. Although this isn't true, the game makes no sense, which is why it is so hard to beat.
This run completes the game in under 4 minutes by simply walking off the edge of existence, jumping around in another dimension, and magically ending at the final treasure room. The authors, illayaya and EZGames69 manage to save 2 frames over their previous run.
If you want to see more of the game, we also have a run that forgoes the warp glitch.

Dragon's Lair is much better known in its incarnations for other platforms as an FMV game with only slight amounts of control over the player's action. The NES version is more of a traditional platformer, but very smooth animation for the era and funny-looking characters inspired by the cartoon graphics of the other versions - this includes the final boss, who isn't seen very much in this run thanks to abuse of the game mechanics.
This is an improvement of around two seconds to the previous run.

This TAS by ktwo is done on the slower USA release of the game, since the differences in execution for some of the levels are different than on the Japan release. You can watch the TAS of the Japanese release of the game here.

Simon is taking another shot at this castle, but feeling horrible for the destruction he caused last time, he is now trying to respect Dracula's property and leave the place untouched (even if his intention is to kill the count).
As a minimalist variation of a pacifist goal, this movie does not contain any destruction in the levels: candles and walls are left intact, items stay untouched, and no enemy is harmed — with the exception of the bosses, who are killed mercilessly with the help of the "critical hit" glitch.
With Simon sneaking by most enemies with no subweapons and only his leather whip, this ends up being quite a stealthy run.
eien86 & Challenger improve the previous run by 12.3 seconds, thanks to better optimization with the scroll glitch, a new route within the caves, better boss battles which allowed obtaining the orb early, and removal of lag frames.

Saint Seiya: Ougon Densetsu (聖闘士星矢 黄金伝説), known in France as Les Chevaliers du Zodiaque: La Légende d'Or is an RPG based on the popular shounen anime series Saint Seiya. This title covers the Galactic wars, Silver saints as well as the Sanctuary sagas (although at the point the game was released, this particular saga was not published yet, and as such, the developers had to improvise a possible ending of it), and is the first official Saint Seiya video game that was ever released.
eien86 and TaoTao exploit a glitch in the character select screen, allowing them to skip 4 boss fights and reach the end of the Sanctuary arc in record time. Please read the authors' comments for more details.

WARNING: This game contains scenes with flashing lights (notably during the fights) that are not suitable to those with photosensitivity issues.
There is also a commentary video from the author featured on Anime Speedruns Fest 2024.

NOTE: The list may or may not be complete.
