OMG!!!! I almost fell back in my seat when I saw your run in the submission list, Swordless! You don't know how tempted I am to just vote yes right now, but I must watch the whole thing first. I'm off now. You might as well add 1 to the yes count vote, until of course about an hour after this post.

That's a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. I'll go ahead and edit the name of the topic. I can't watch your vids until I go on a normal computer though.
edit:
Wow, the "Star Spangled Banner" sounds really good on the guitar. Much better than the racket I hear when it's played by an orchestra. Your version actually made me feel some emotion even though I am not patriotic at all.

Yeah, way back when it first came out. My memory really sucks these days, so I forgot the whole storyline. I do remember bits and pieces like when he was playing “Flight of the Bumble Bee” on the piano.
You are too kind, really. Other people wouldn’t share the same opinion, like me for instance. I tinkered around with the piano since I was about 9, but I didn’t start practicing seriously until middle school, after my music teacher noticed that I had perfect pitch and told me that many musicians would kill to have that ability. I also discovered that I had really good dexterity and was able to play fast songs. Anyway I'm off to check out your vid now. That's neat that you chose a Xenogears song. My avatar didn't happen to influence your choice, did it?
Edit: That was actually pretty good. Can you sight read?

I never realized how easy it was to post vids on Youtube when you have access to a digital camera. Anyway, I thought this may interest any classical music lovers.

Bach's Partita no. 1 excerpt 2

Edit: I couldn't stand the way the first song turned out, so I redid it. Still not quite up to the standards I would like but it will have to do. I also added another link of me playing one of my favorite Bach pieces.

Just to let you know, the reason why I'm taking very long is because I have changed my approach with TASing. What I do now is work on the game until I get bored and then I stop, where as in the past I would sometimes force myself to spend a whole day on my runs. But I will continue till done so long as you give me feedback. I will PM you from now on since there's no one else posting anymore.

Ahh, Minish Cap. Now that's one of the rare few games that I never played but would still love to see done. My era of Zelda gaming ended after ALttP in the early 90's, when I got into role playing games. Minish Cap has very colorful and pleasing graphics, and my youngest brother swears I would like this game much better than the other Zelda games I beat.

I tested some time ago and I recall that Beat's intro alone took longer than the time saved killing the hippos. So as of now I am deciding not to collect the parts. If there's anything I may have overlooked let me know.

I have decided to resume running this game. I was burn't out after doing the Megaman X run, so I gave up on it. Thankfully I still have my run. Really I just jumped straight into Megaman IV, and got overwelmed by the amount of avoidable lag the game had. I'm already 6 frames ahead of Bag's run. That's from lag reduction alone. And I'm only past the top of Pharoah Man's stage with the quicksand. Unless this thread continues to be silent I will get this done. It's my 2nd favorite gameboy game ever.

I have next to no knowledge of this game since I never played it. However, I have enjoyed watching the speed runs of this game throughout the last few years. I'm wondering, is 0% the fastest non-100% aim? I'm curious because I've always wanted to see someone verify that 100% is indeed the fastest way to beat this game. I'll check this run out in the meantime.

I can't believe none of the snakes were in your way. That's great. How did you manage that? Also, did you improve the battle with the knights? I remember the best I could do was 5 frames slower than erokky's before I decided to copy paste what he had.

Ha ha, I liked how you did a variety of different wobbles. That makes your run look more interesting IMO. I recommend that you continue to do that. About the area with the snakes, I wouldn't count on finding the desired setup. It would literally be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It's also quite possible that the only way to make the snakes not be in your way is to sacrifice more time than you would save.

Are you skipping the boomerang in the castle? I can't download your route yet since I'm posting from my PSP. I had a whole route planned out with the help of Erokky but I think I deleted it. Yours is likely better anyways.

What he does is end the movie at the earliest possible input, paying no mind to how fast he beats the last boss. That's not beating the game as fast as possible in my opinion.

I liked this. I'm voting yes. One thing that really bugs me though is you not beating King Dedede the fastest time possible. It would look a lot better for the viewers. Just a thought.

That part is no problem at all. The ships position before Vile comes out is intirely based on X's position. That part is very flexible so you have much to work with. I've been TASing this game from time to time just for fun. I'm not really planning on submitting. I'm currently 23 frames ahead at the turtle part in Boomer's level. I managed to improve the Chill Penguin fight by 7 frames. I could PM you what I got if you want. Better to compare with something more optimal.

Just to let you know, this game was very discouraging at times because there are parts that are extremely boring like when I went through Armored Armadillo's stage over and over again. And parts where I had to manually trial and error to get the best result. Also the second fight with Vile was extremely difficult. I had no problem manipulating him, but I had to manipulate him in a way to time it so that I get hit by his spark at the right spot and at the same time have him jump and land at the right spot. It was one of the hardest tasks to do in the whole game. There were also other extreme difficulties. This game is definately not for someone without patience. Do you feel you're up for the task? How difficult was your run to make?
