I think it even fits Standard these days, it's just that unrejection of hacks would be a HUGE undertaking, and we're trying to focus on the current queue for now. PG unrejections are also a part of this plan.

I think revisiting large amounts of submissions every time we make a rule change is a pipe dream. I think the most reasonable course of action is to do them gradually alongside the queue. I'm not opposed to revisiting derivative content (hacks, custom levels, etc.) now that we have a better games system in place, but I'd like to see some updated rules, docs etc.

Rules for hacks have been updated tho.

These are probably not acceptable right away because seen as trivial with little user creativity but I hope it will become acceptable one day. These are acceptable now : #4237: RealMyop's SNES Super Road Blaster in 17:21.21 was with little user creativy/is a Choose Your Own Adventure game. #5655: Cyorter's Wii Fast Draw Showdown in 10:41.27 was trivial. I know that hacks are just begun to be revisited but I'll list the ones that I'm pretty sure are acceptables, found them on smwcentral and romhacking dat net : #4105: kuja_killer's NES Rockman 3: Burst Chaser in 24:16.32. Done. #2805: woabclf's NES Rockman: Deus Ex Machina "Normal" in 27:02.51. Done. #3273: kaizoman666, TheFinalBoss726 & Fethy75's SNES Kaizo Mario World 2 in 19:26.47. Unacceptable emulator nowadays, so unless we sync it on an acceptable emulator...?

#7096: GMP's DOS Prince of Persia "No Major Glitches" in 18:50.82 There was a very brief discussion about the possibility of moving this to Playground. I didn't know about this thread back then, so felt like I would make a request here.

#2717: aglasscage & woabclf's NES Rockman Exhaust in 24:26.19. Looks like there was also this hack rejected for "bad game choice"

Right. Bash. #7153: Craigelbagel001's PSX Crash Bash "200%, no memory manipulation" in 5:21:19.83 The movie that was rejected just before the introduction of Standard, and the death of Vault. Despite it being pointed out that there was suboptimal issues, it was still going to be accepted. Under whatever the ruleset was back in August most of that has changed, meaning the clause of it having to be a "2 player, 201%" TAS has basically been pretty much null and void. A good way of looking at an example is the recently accepted N-Tranced submission which pretty much almost a 1:1 comparison to the now recategorized "N. Tropy" category. And because of this I can point out that there used to be an old argument of having to have more than 50% unique content in the old site logic, without getting into it (because I'm borderline using information I shouldn't be using) that was going to be a point against the Bash TAS. Under how the site is currently presented, logically and feel free to correct me, Bash is fair game with these categories for the site (MM - Memory Manipulation):
  • 200% (1 player)
  • 200%/201% (MM)
  • 201% (2 players)
  • any% (MM)
"Percentage Max is the preferred choice" does not work with this game since without Memory Manipulation present as there are unique strategies used in going solo, and playing in co-op. The only argument of it has to be 201%, can not be considered an argument due to both reaching the same credits, both reaching the main goal, and both actually being 200% in the European version of the game possibly due to some oversight. However, in writing that bit. I'm pretty sure that rule actually got nuked in the rewrite.

#5902: Hoandjzj's SNES Super Metroid: Kaizo Edition in 1:17:59.24 pretty decent attempt at a Kaizo TAS, game can be pretty slow due to the nature of it being a Kaizo game but still worth looking into.

With the acceptance of these fine four TASes we don't have to go far back to find another one that's recent, meaning it's optimal. Tic Tac Oh No. #7077: FractalFusion & Spikestuff's SNES Tic-Tac-Toe "Hard Mode" in 00:11.33

The time has come, to revive the three: #5886: Spikestuff & MESHUGGAH's Vboy Nester's Funky Bowling "Bowl, perfect game" in 01:24.30 #6321: Spikestuff's A2600 Bowling "perfect game" in 01:25.71 #6969: Spikestuff's SNES Super Bowling "Turkey Bowl, perfect game" in 01:41.13 With the other 3 currently on the bench that was delayed for a clause that prevented bowling. These three return with the triviality clause that held them back removed. So. A proper game of bowling. Where does that end up? Will the other 3 join the reject bunch or will there be 6 acceptable "Perfect Games"? All I know is one thing. Bowling.

#6684: dekutony's GBC Uno "Fastest Uno" in 01:01.01 Still unsure about this because of that green checkmark thing but either way I enjoyed making this. #5890: dekutony's GBC Blue's Clues: Blue's Alphabet Book in 02:33.58 Maybe this one since educational games are now allowed on the site..?

Pretty optimized and interesting run. It can be published with an alternative goal #5489: Uroboros's GC Resident Evil 2 "Claire B" in 49:51.21
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

#3383: SuperMario12's DS WarioWare: Touched! in 29:50.84 Even though the vast majority of microgames in this game have a fixed timer, some of them can end early if you're fast enough (as far as I remember...).

#6300: tendog's Windows Deltarune "Chapter 1, NewGame+" in 25:37.67 was rejected under a few different rules that have since been changed. This includes the acceptability of demos, starting a movie from a save file/saveRAM, and using an unofficial Linux port of a Gamemaker game. I made a more detailed post (Post #527366) in the submission thread outlining each part of the judgement that has changed, and I also made a verification movie for the submission (User movie #638402543939765159).
