Is anyone interested TASsing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six PS1-version? Been looking for that perfect time, but there is always lack of thrust to humanly timed stuff (I'm WR-holder and my RTA SOBs are 51 seconds ahead comparing to current WR/PB of mine) & I haven't managed to clock everything there is to save in my full game splits and I find mistakes costing some frames even in my gold splits. My computer isn't good enough to run any emulator either, so I'd like to have help because of that too. Fastest would be PS2 FDS (Fast Disc Speed), but played on PS1-BIOS is ok, if there is no emulator with capabilities to that. It would be nice, if TASser does TAS for both Analog & Digital control style! Any version of the game would be fine, based on what I've found out on gameplay, there aren't differences in physics or running speeds between regions. But TAS would also be good way of confirming that! Game has few known exploits, but I'm better of explaining them more via questions! What I've discovered (by playing game!): You can run through doors, if you press operating button(s) (button, which is/are you used to open doors) and angling yourself correctly comparing to door, you just run through it. NOTE: This exploit doesn't work with doors that open automatically, with doors that open towards you & with narrower double doors (There is one double door, where I have manage to pull that clip off in this game)! Second exploit I have implemented in my every single run after discovering it is in Mission 12, where you can't get detected or mission is failure, I've managed to fool game into thinking guards are not seeing me, even though they are and run pass them or clip through them, when they are in doorway. This vid is from day I discovered it: https://youtu.be/0AN3Mose2cY I have later realized, that in order to clip through guard, you have to face him in simillar kind of angle, when doing run through door exploit! To simplify: This is speedrunner asking for TAS-community's help! SRC of game: https://www.speedrun.com/Tom_Clancys_Rainbow_Six#PS1_Recruit Okay, enough introduction done. If you really are interested into TASsing game, contact me and I can go into more details much more! Most recommended way is to contact me is via my Discord, in case of you wanting me to help you during you TASsing game! You can find it here from my speedrun.com-profile: https://www.speedrun.com/user/ALZERI28 If you look into my runs, they are all played using digital controls, default digital controls, which appear in controller setup as: "controller setting 1" Sorry for looooooooong post, but I really would like to have a TAS available for R6! -ALZERI28, WR holder at the time

Even if your computer is a potato you should still be able to do a TAS with it (what I mean is that it's not an issue at all if you can't play the game at normal speed with the emulator). As for the game, I know it's a "Playstation Classic" (well at least that's what Sony said) but it doesn't look like a TAS of it would be very entertaining.

Yeah, not many options for a tas to make it stand out. Just another first person shooter. Basic first person shooter too.

What do you mean by this? Will the emulator not run at all for you or does it just not run at full speed? If it’s the latter, that shouldn’t matter. Like lapogne36 said, a potato computer can still be used to tas games. No matter how fast the game runs on your computer, it will still be emulated at the same speed.
