So your computer crashed on you too. Something weird seems to be going on with old PCs (XP in my case). That is fine if your Porky & Taz stages looked better. The biggest problem is that I cant dance to the music or anything because VBA is silent on frame advance for me. If it wasn't, then I would SO dance to the tunes. Maybe we can do something together some other time. I'll splice your stages into this run and I will look for further improvements. I am glad that you logged in to reply Pekopon! And it is okay that your run got obsoleted. I am still fairly bad at TASing, yet with all of your submissions on this game it looks like you are a veteran at this game!
I've owned the cartridge ever since I was really little, and I still play it quite often to this day. I remember being so proud the first time I beat it. I was at my grandma's house when I beat it for the first time. Now I can beat it in about 18 minutes. :P Oh, and for dancing to the music, I just put it on a slow speed and played in real time. I also let all of the bullets shoot and I danced around them WHILE dancing to the music. It was actually one of the few things that survived of that run as thankfully I uploaded it to youtube. You can still see my improved porky stage on my channel. (My youtube name is PekoponTAS though)

The colour version isn't worth it as there are certain things that are slower, and also there are mini games at the end of each stage that you can't skip, and take up a lot of time. Oh, and I hate you for obsoleting my run. >:( Just kidding of course. That trick in Daffy stage was awesome. But GEEZ I'm so mad my computer crashed and lost all my files, including my improvement run. No offense, and I can't prove it, but my improved Porky and Taz stages looked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the ones in your run. I'm so mad I lost that file. >:( Anyways, nice run. Though I am a little sad that my only published TAS has been obsoleted.

Here are some videos that I actually made! Hey there! Haven`t been here in quite some time. Well today I`m bringing news of the biggest video game internet event of all time. The folks at thespeedgamers.com are going to be holding a 72 hour marathon of Pokemon games to raise money for charity. The event starts on December 18th 2009 6:00PM CST (Central Standard Time) and they will be legitimately catching all 493 pokemon. Remember that this is for charity, so when the day arrives, don`t forget to donate. If you donate 5 dollars or more, you get a chance to win prizes in draws. If you couldn`t take all this is, you can watch this Promo video I made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EeiI83hAYE&feature=channel_page Now I`m not promoting this to gain hits for the site, I`m promoting this for the charity. The charity they`re donating to hasn`t been decided yet, but eventually they will post a poll asking which one, so you can influence what they donate to. More details will be posted on thespeedgamers.com in the coming months, so keep an eye out. This is one event you won`t want to miss. And remember that this is being streamed live, so you have to plan your sleep schedule ahead of time. So go check out the site and the promo video and get pumped for the big event. This is Pekopon signing out!

I liked this run much more than the previous. I ALWAYS watch the previous version of a run right before watching a new one to notice differences, and this run had a lot of new stuff. One thing I'm confused about though. Wouldn't it have been faster to just stand where the star was going to land at the end of the final Bowser? Bowser looks like a hamster in this game. I guess they were going for the T-Rex arms, but he's just so laughably stupid looking.

I vote yes. I really liked it, and there were a lot of cool surprises since I haven't seen any WIPs. (cause I don't have a good enough computer to properly use n64 emulators) My biggest disappointment was the Water Temple. I really wanted to see cool tricks in that, instead we get to see you jump through the boss door. LAME! Other than that, this was totally awesome. Oh, and one thing that scared the crap out of me was how in the spirit temple, that mini boss with the zombie hands around him, his head was upside down for a second there. That was really creepy. By any chance did that scare you while you were making the run?

I have that controller as well. I use the extra shoulder buttons for turbo.

A-ha! I can see your problem right there! (sorry, I had to)
Please don't say that. I'm already mad enough I was forced to use Vista. It doesn't feel good when people constantly remind me that it sucks.

Are you smart enough to even figure out how the saw even made it into the tree the way it is when the level starts? That's right, it was placed there hundreds of years ago just so trees could grow around it, so that in the farawy future it could scare monkeys (and rats). If not the stupidest way to saw a tree, it is the most calculatingly evil and diabolical way to saw a tree.
Good point. XD I like your theory. The only question now is WHO is sawing that tree? I don't think ANYONE is moving the saw! I think it's one of those Japanese Tsukumogami monsters. If it really WAS placed there one hundred years ago, that would support the Tsukumogami theory. If you have no idea, what I mean by Tsukumogami, read up on them here. http://kirby.classicgaming.gamespy.com/info/mythology/karakasa.html It's fairly short, and it's pretty cool. Japanese Monsters are awesome. We get stuck with Loch Ness.

The second most beautiful piece of music was from an anime, but it was the Kirby anime, (Hoshi no Kaabii) so it sort of counts as video game related. (but not really)
Was it from early on in the show or later? Because a lot of the later music is originally from Kirby Air Ride or other games.
It was actually in the very first scene in the first episode. XD The song title on the OST is "Popstar" It's a beautiful song. Some great music from Smash Bros Brawl. (I may have forgotten some) Battle with Marx (Kirby) Battle with the Squeaks (Kirby) Legendary Air Ride Machine (Kirby) Butter Buildings (Kirby) Mt. Dedede (Kirby) Revenge of MetaKnight (Kirby) Dr. Mario Chill Balloon Fight Tetris A (Best friggin remix of it ever) Tetris B Luigi's Mansion The main Theme. (With lyrics) King K. Rool Mario Bros Overworld remix Ashley's Theme English (Yeah, Yeah. Make fun of me if you must) Mike's Theme English (Again, make fun of me if you can't hold it in) I'm sure I've forgotten some. And I've recently found out that the Earthbound Soundtrack is really good.

So I got it to work, and to be sure I noticed the changes, I watched the currently published movie before this one. I have a few questions. #1: Why is it that at some points with Enguarde, you use the charge attack for such a short distance when the normal stab should be plenty? #2: You mentioned it's a pain to optimize Squawks. Why is that? #3: Why did you kill your monkeys so much in the level with the lightning? I was seriously thinking the movie was desyncing, but it wasn't. #4: How the heck did you skip the whole friggin auto scroller level with the rope?

Okay, so I settled on WinRAR. Thanks for your help guys. Oh, and to MUGG, that's too bad. They were probably WIPs that were longer than mine since I generally only attempt short games. What did you lose? (out of curiosity)

Do you have to pay for WinRAR? Because we had it on my old computer and I'm pretty sure we never ended up paying anything the whole time. I mean even AFTER the free trial ended.

Because the torrent I downloaded SNES roms from won't let me open it. It's Donkey Kong Country 3 - Dixie Kong's Double Trouble.7z Though now that I think about it, I was able to extract the snes9x files. Could it just be something with the file type of .7z?

I just got a new computer today, (My old one crashed while watching the drill dozer TAS in the workbench) and I don't know what Zip program I should download. I have windows vista. I hope I can rescue my files from my old hard drive, seeing as how a lot of drawings and TAS projects were on it. My awesome Looney Tunes Improvement could be lost. :O

Well, I watched most of it. I got to the missle level before my computer crashed. I can't turn it on, so I'm currently on my mom's laptop. It was indeed impressive, but I still vote no. It was really cool, but there were lots of flaws. Most noticeable was you didn't do this trick that I showed in the Drill Dozer thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5U7E9L1KS4&feature=PlayList&p=1C569843AC6B48C7&index=3 Did you check the DrillDozer thread before making this? I posted lots of neat shortcuts there. So I vote no. I just thought it could be improved too much. And not only because of the shortcuts I posted. Even though nobody may be willing to improve it, it's still not a good idea to accept a flawed run. Particularilly when the author admits it isn't as good as it should be. I am pleased that you also knew about the strange damage systm though. I never understood why it works like that.

Could you be a bit more specific on the emulator and how you get it to work? The description doesn't really help much on how to play it.

This is what I was hoping this topic would stir up. Actual good pictures in Mario Paint. XD (Mine are garbage, and I admit it.) I'm pleased people have taken time to do this stuff. Now if only we could get a super sped up video of one being made.

I was kinda disappointed, I was looking for a perfect drawing, but I saw something that could be made unassisted (waluigi). Try using frame advance to be pixel perfect. I would suggest pick a color and go like a printer, only not as dumb as a printer. Then proceed to the next color.
I didn't say they were perfect. I can only use my controller to use the mouse, so it won't let me do a circular motion very easily. And as mentioned, the Waluigi one was the first one I made, so I didn't know what I was doing yet. (Not to mention I can't draw Waluigi very well on Paper either) Mario Paint has limitations you know. This wasn't something I took too incredibly seriously since it was just for fun. Just so you know, I did use frame advance. I don't do anything without frame advance. Even with frame advance, drawing a nice curved line is very difficult. Try it and you'll see.

I could do one of Kirby, but it would have to be him with an ability that changes his colour like Ninja or Beam. As mentioned, the Pink turns to purple when converted to AVI. Don't ask why. It just does.
What codec are you using to capture/encode?
DivX Codec 4.12 I use the same one for GBA. (which I think there may be a better one)

Well, I didn't liked the Waluigi drawing (though I also dislike the character itself anyway), though the other 2 ones looked good IMO. Could you do one of kirby? <(^.^)>

It just does. And yeah, the Waluigi one was my first one, so I didn't quite know what to do yet. I think I put too much hair on him. I personally am a huge Waluigi fan. ^_^ Plus, Waluigi is pretty much the only Mario Character I can draw fairly well. (but not on Mario Paint. ;_;) I made another one as an advertisement for my deviantart account. It's a drawing of my original character Haihyou, and it's shaded slightly! Since I haven't been working on any of my runs for a while, I decided to do something I always wanted to. Make drawings in Mario Paint with re-records. I haven't seen anyone else do this, so I thought I might as well. If you ever get bored, please do one since it's pretty fun. Here are the ones I've made. Keep in mind that when you convert to Avi, certain colours are messed up. You will have to replace pink for red since the pink turns to purple when converted. Of course these can't be submitted, but they're still fun to do. I don't think it would be possible to collect enough chips to get everything without going through levels more than once. As it is, nobody really has any interest in making a run. Lots of people want one, but nobody is willing to make one. I've been posting lots of tricks in the Drill Dozer thread though, and if you want to see a sample of a TAS, you can check out this video on my youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZrcXlDq3Mw This was done as something for my brother, to get through this room without getting hurt. It's not much, but it's one of the few Drill Dozer TASes. (Another user had a WIP, but I don't remember his name.) Oh, and at least with the rom I use, the game crashes after the credits, so it's impossible to go back to the menu without a soft reset.
