Went and took another look at Gruefood Delight, this time in the April Fools section. My time is limited right now, but right off the bat, #3515: RachelB's Wii The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess "glitched" in 00:22.65, #3523: Bobo_the_King's SNES Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars "Beetle Mania" in 45:35.38, and #2611: adelikat's N64 Elmo's Letter Adventure "Playaround" in 01:12.40 stick out to me. (I'll take another, more closer look at the April Fools section once Christmas is over.)

A few moments ago I took another look through Gruefood Delight, this time focusing on the "Hacks/Homebrews" category. #2003: max12187566's NES Super Lion King in 05:24.38, #2042: HappyLee's NES Full Moon Mario in 05:11.58, and #2544: True's NES Somari in 24:14.09 all look enticing at first glance, but the first two were submitted 16 years ago and the optimization on the latter was deemed to be less than par. The one that sticks out the most to be is #4563: IgorOliveira666's SNES Super Mario Bros. Enhanced "warps" in 11:02.71, which I believe was judged during a time where the site was much more strict on romhacks than it is now. Then I took another look at Gruefood Delight's "Alternate Goals" category. The runs there that stick out to me the most are #872: Genisto's GBA Mario Kart: Super Circuit "Playaround" in 43:49.38, #1660: Hongbaichaoren's NES Super C in 12:35.93, #1783: Genisto's SNES Super Mario World "playaround" in 52:39.23, #1801: Genisto's SNES Super Mario World "playaround" in 45:30.42, #1991: AngerFist's NES Mega Man 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 in 02:42.90, #2624: MUGG's GB Super Mario Land "walkathon" in 15:00.23, #2704: Felipe's Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog 2 "Without SpinDash" in 22:29.52, #2828: scrimpeh's NES Castlevania "no subweapons, no damage" in 13:18.44, #3556: Brandon's NES Super Mario Bros. "minimum presses" in 05:48.04, #4121: Sam's N64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time "Ganonless" in 31:13.17, #3952: coconou's SNES The Smurfs "Pacifist, No Damage" in 24:10.30, #3965: c-square's NES Super Jeopardy! in 25:28.57, #5656: Soig's Genesis Contra: Hard Corps "100%" in 1:17:21.79, and #6774: Baddap1's NES Extra Mario Bros. "bad ending" in 05:26.78. Wow, that's a lot more games than I thought I would list here.

Exclusive levels from other regional versions of the game wouldn’t make this run “incomplete”.
I recall in the past there was a run that obsoleted an earlier run because the newer run had more levels. I don't remember what game that was tho.

Yesterday I discovered that the European version of this game (a disc-based release known as "Pucca's Race for Kisses") contains two extra chapters that are absent from the WiiWare version. You can see them in this recently-uploaded longplay video. Link to video With this in mind, I consider this run to be incomplete.

I just happened across three more Gruefood Delight submissions filed under the "Bad Game Choice" category: #2037: DarkKobold's SegaCD Dragon's Lair in 10:45.65, #4237: RealMyop's SNES Super Road Blaster in 17:21.21, and #2682: MUGG's GBA WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! in 29:19.45. The first two are FMV games akin to the aforementioned Fast Draw Showdown and Mad Dog McCree, in the sense that they were deemed to be trivial in an age where that was a factor. The description for the WarioWare submission on the Gruefood page implies speed was a factor in it being cancelled, which I think is bit dubious given that playarounds were a thing even back then. I should note that while MUGG is still active to this very day, DarkKobold's profile says they have not logged on since January, so it might be hard to get ahold of them.

I just discovered #5655: Cyorter's Wii Fast Draw Showdown in 10:41.27, which was rejected for violating rules that are no longer in force. Kinda reminds me of #9397: EZGames69's SegaCD Mad Dog McCree in 08:30.31, which as I'm writing this is currently being judged.

Now that this TAS has been uncanceled and is being judged again, I have to wonder why the branch is called "Pacifist - 1 Touch / 2 Hits" instead of "Pacifist - Maria Scenario".

#1572: mr_roberts_z's N64 Super Mario 64 "Coinless-Cannonless-Capless" in 1:03:10.80 and #2976: Kaylee, MICKEY_Vis11189, Moltov, Nahoc, SilentSlayers, snark, sonicpacker & Eru's N64 Super Mario 64 "16 stars" in 13:28.40 are two Gruefood Delight submissions that I believe should be revisited due to the loosening of the branch restrictions. They're both very old submissions, and thus could benefit from further optimizations, but they should suffice for now.

It simply seems like my newer route is slower than the old one. I will need to redo the TAS from scratch, so I think it's better to cancel :)
...Or you can just request that #6222: Wobmiar's GC Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles "all dungeons" in 1:52:04.20 is unrejected? Unless you have improvements you need to make to the older route.
I have improvements ^^ Not necessarily to the route, but there is optimization timesaves that would save a lot
Understood. I await the new submission!

This run appears to be about two minutes slower than #6222: Wobmiar's GC Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles "all dungeons" in 1:52:04.20. Why is that?

I suggest the Fallen Stars folder is removed, as the one submission in that folder (#4947: dwangoAC, Ilari & p4plus2's SGB Pokémon: Red Version "Pokemon Plays Twitch" in 08:11.42) is now being accepted to Events.

Problem is, most of the TASes in that category were cancelled, and last I checked, we don't unreject cancelled submissions.

In light of the recent policy changes (as described here: https://tasvideos.org/Forum/Topics/8694?CurrentPage=11&Highlight=532024#532024) I suggest going back through Gruefood Delight and seeing which submissions from there should be unrejected.

This submission is STILL delayed, over a year-and-a-half later. The fact it's been in limbo for so long is absolutely insane to me.

Should runs by banned users (such as this one) qualify for Playground?

Should mention that Jcool114, who is credited as an author for this TAS, was revealed to have cheated a large amount of RTA runs in late 2021. Link to video
