The animation doesn't seem as smooth as Famidash, but it's cool there's one of these for the GB too. Short and sweet, yes vote.

I didn't have the issue JD reported after converting the FCM in FCEUX 2.6.6. However, the romFilename and author fields had garbage characters added, so I fixed them. Here's the syncing file. It may also sync with one controller instead of two, and I'm not sure what the correct framerate should be, but 60 seems inaccurate (and shows as Obsolete). Now judging can proceed either with this file or the original FCM. I didn't make a new encode because Critical_five's are still up, and no input was changed.

the emulator crashed partway through, and I couldn't get the rom to boot again after that.
JD, I wonder if something got corrupted on your PC. You could try running sfc /scannow in cmd or PowerShell, and maybe checking your disk's health with a free tool like CrystalDiskInfo, then playing back the TAS again.

Thanks Spikestuff for verifying and making an encode. I verified it as well, on the standard .exe available on the author's site. I don't know why our site parser detected 51 FPS as Hourglass does show 50. The site calls this "NTSC 50 (Obsolete)", but it can't be obsolete as we have a current publication using this framerate (also marked 50 "Obsolete").

Nice to see a TAS of this game, and nice to see a second run, after Perfect Dark, to use the Ares core. I hope this becomes a trend to use the more accurate core for N64 games (even though it runs much slower).

I'm really glad you decided to redo it from power-on. It would've been a shame to miss out on submitting because of it starting from a savestate. I also appreciated the detailed notes, though I think a link is missing in the Pelagic II section after you say "Here’s a link to technical details about that:". Clipping glitches were fun and helped keep the pace fast. Looking at the ground so often was unfortunate (though necessary for lag), especially in Villa, but it seemed to get better after that level. Pushing the President and alien around was so funny, and I liked the entertainment sections like playing tic-tac-toe with yourself. Good job finishing this.

Those glitches were very silly. Love little unexpected things like that in TASes. Also shoutouts to LotBlind. According to this TASVideos page, v17+st-1 or newer are acceptable. I'm no judge but this run looks optimized enough to be acceptable already, and an improved run can be done later on st-2 if you want.

Is this due to the aforementioned FPS issue or is the (133MHz) processor too fast? If it's the latter, maybe the Late 80s config (or another processor between 16-133 MHz) would run the game better. Though, game setup might take much longer.

Anyone able to sync this, or better yet make an encode?
Here's a quick one, using the listed BizHawk 1.0.0: Link to video I also tried BizHawk 1.7.1 after renaming the .tas to .bkm, but it didn't sync, possibly due to changes in movie format since 1.0.0. Might be syncable on a newer BizHawk with some manual editing.

Very nicely done! Made a varied and fast-paced run (was it really 14 years ago?) even better (and glitchier). Welcome back, link. Yes vote.

I enjoyed both this and your previous 3D Noid TAS. The fun platforming was the best part, but I also like the idea of the game where you help the Noid regain what it lost. Thanks for making these!

That's an impressive timesave! The new, faster solutions manage to be a lot more entertaining too, at least for me. Thanks for doing this!

I kept checking back to see if someone added an encode I could watch on my phone. They didn't, so I made one. Not sure if this is the option, but I enabled in PSX>Settings (NymaShock settings)>Non-Sync Settings "Correct aspect ratio" and, along with FFmpeg writer with MP4, it output a single 4:3 video. I'll remove this when the run's published: Classic board game TAS goal, using the tools at your disposal and some incredible planning to dominate the AI and human Scrabble records. Little decisions like turning Oophytes into Zoophytes fit together so well to let you play that 15-letter word. This must've taken a lot of time and/or knowledge of the (board) game. Shame about the bugs in this one though, it otherwise looks like a pretty good adaptation. Not sure how BizHawk (2.9.1) calculates hashes for the various disc parts together, but here's the SHA-1s I synced with: Scrabble.bin - 9fff5f9d9f3994d901afc680a9389d37c76266c2 (the one that should probably be used) Scrabble.cue - e9b758e539e5564df0035af8669b91f613cccc87 (the one redump.org lists) Also, 63.4 MB seems small for a PSX game.

I've been following your userfiles and loved seeing the hard work you put into optimizing this game. You blew our run out of the water, pun intended! Your explanation video was helpful (though I had to rewind a lot to take in both your commentary and what was happening in the run) and showed the many nuances of KA's physics you were able to take advantage of. Seems you have a knack for solving these laggy early Kirby speedruns; hope we see more from you. Someone's got to tackle a Kirby Super Star improvement, no pressure there though.

Hi banzaiaiai and welcome to TASVideos. Since you know how to use Python and AutoHotKey, I don't think the tools I will mention will be too hard for you to use. First, there is a version of EZPlatformer made in Adobe Flash. It is open-source, but there is no compiled SWF file. You can build an SWF yourself using a guide like this one. Next, install Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 and libTAS. Here is a guide to install them. This creates a Linux environment inside Windows 10 or Windows 11. Then, install Ruffle. This is a desktop emulator for Flash Player SWF files. Using this inside libTAS is the best way to TAS a Flash game, and lets you use savestates and frame advance to make your TAS efficient and optimized. TASVideos gives you storage space to upload the .ltm file you create. Once you're sure it's as fast as you can make it, you can also submit it for publication on TASVideos so more people can see and enjoy your run. If you have any questions, you can reply here in English, or speak in French in the French section of TASVideos. By the way, when you post a link, please use [ url ], without spaces, instead of [ post ]. This is best for any link that is not a specific forum post on TASVideos.

I agree, this was a good show for kids and the trainsets were hours of imaginative fun. We had both official Thomas trains and tracks, and cheaper knockoffs of the same. (Those train toys are still expensive today!) Good that you found some going slower to go faster tech. So you don't have control of your train's speed at all, other than choosing a track to follow? Looks like the encode is of your newer movie. Here's the link. Note that normally you'd ask a judge to please replace it for you.

I actually played this one! Good to see it represented here. That new PC is really paying off for letting you make what you want to. I forgot the gameplay is so samey though. It was fun enough until the last third, where I had to skip ahead. I'm hoping the use of an in-game code is acceptable since it just powers up your jump and there's no other way to obtain it.

Thanks CoolHandMike and other judges for giving many of these runs a second chance.

[*]#1094: Lollybomb's Genesis Zero Wing in 33:33.43 - So why is [2303] Genesis Zero Wing by DDRKhat in 40:05.72 published instead?
The published run has a lower framecount, but is done on the PAL version which runs at ~49.7 FPS rather than the higher (and slightly inaccurate) 60.0 FPS, resulting in a longer time. Could still be worth investigating, if there are differences between the two game versions that lead to one being more optimal. (Though the same goal choice of the same autoscroller would be more pleasant to watch without 6.5 minutes of extra time.) Nominating: #5082: MarbleousDave's SNES Pokémon Stadium in 14:51.17 - Rejected for game choice, Spikestuff said (in 2016) it looks optimized, though the author planned to optimize it further.

I'm glad you have a PC now that can keep up with your motivation for TASing! The game looks like a fun throwback to the first three Paper games, though obviously pretty different too (and too short). Unfortunately I don't have a setup for libTAS either, but someone else will try and sync your run before it's judged.

I was entranced by the gameplay of this, it does look fun and reminds me of Chip's Challenge. Not surprising you did a WIP of that game too. Congrats on doing the work to complete this one, I know it's not always easy.

Really nice to see a Pokémon Stadium 2 TAS, even if it's a minigame mode. It was a fun watch, thanks Chamale!

I was confused between the only RTA run and the TAS I am working on. I encountered more lag in this game
CasualPokePlayer's response to you in the other thread confirms what I was thinking, but lacked a reliable source to say for certain. BizHawk's melonDS is more accurate to a real DS than Wii U VC. So your run and its emulated lag should be legitimate as far as we know, and okay to submit.

I'm not a judge, but even if the run were faster on a different version, the amount of work you already put into the run will be considered by judges, along with the difficulty of redoing a run of this length.

Interesting to see another Game Freak game and hear its music samples that sound like Pokémon Diamond/Pearl. I had to rely on the author's comments to tell what was going on, though. Seems like there would've been more of a barrier to finishing 3 levels if it wasn't a prototype, but this shows off what's there well.

Nice run. I've been waiting for Sonic R glitched and this did not disappoint. If anyone does have interest in the PC version, it should be TASable with libTAS+PCem and the Windows 95 config.

Welcome back, Logan! This was a good, fast TAS. Does the video's description mean you're planning to do the rest of the Action 52 (NES) games?

Hey EZ. Like dekutony said, there isn't a time shift yet. I wonder if something went wrong in BizHawk since the subs are supposed to start at frame 0. Here's the first line of Subtitles.txt (frame # is the first 0):
subtitle 0 0 500 179 FFFFFF00 Welcome to my MKA (MKSC) All Cups TAS :D
Regardless, the .srt subs linked also have the correct timestamps. (I had issues exporting as an .srt from BizHawk 2.9.1, so I used 2.3.1.)
