This one really isn't going get much explanation as it's heavily based on Randil's input but both cases of GBC Déjà Vu are completed this time around.
Case One
The TAS could've started back at frame 854, but I chose to start later (866) as there was less fights, but an extra dialogue event (I did check other points, but they're not worth bringing up).
Starting at frame 854 there would've been 3 fights, and 1 interaction (total: 4) whereas in this submission there was 2 fights, and 3 interactions (total: 5).
Starting late saves about 90 frames by the end of Case One when you compare the two starting points I stated here.
Adjusting at the starting input adjusts what your result in the slot machine, and what events occur throughout the rest of the case.
You're unable to complete the case if the slots gives out a lemon jackpot, as you won't have enough money for the final cab fare.
The route is based on both the
Current Publication, and the
Obsoleted one as you're unable to perform the "leave bullet" bug on the GBC version.
At the end of Case One I deliberately decided to not do a Soft Reset to go back to menu and go into Case Two as it feels like it's skipping part of the story when you do a soft reset, this is something I didn't like that personally.
Input can be adjusted for if it's requested by the Judge.
It's about 40 seconds of time save if the Judge wants to know how much a soft reset impacts the run and if they actually want me to implement that in.
Case Two
This is practically
all of Randil's input from 2006 with some micro-adjustments here and there with some input coming in a frame later than it should.
There is some minor improvements I did find going over it, but not really worth commenting about.
And those 90 frames I was talking about in Case One? Well, you lose all but one frame because of the $10 you find in the desert (this is including the late start it gets).
Special Thanks
CasualPokePlayer for pointing out where the seed actually changes. At the Push Start screen.
feos: I judged a storybook once so... Judging...
feos: Everything looks good.
Since the second story starts automatically after the first one, I think not having a reset is an acceptable tradeoff that makes the narrative seamless.
