Ok, I join team 5.
Please understand that I'm busy for a few days, but I will definitely check the game and do some research.
It will probably be all for nothing because this will happen.
The gameLink to video
Genpei Touma den is an arcade multi-genre game, that contains platforming, fighting, and top down playstyles. The story follows of a Samurai who is resurected and is sent to destroy the monarchy or something.
There is currently an unoptimized TAS that misses some obvious tricks, but should serve as a good refrence. (alternate Nico link for those who prefer it)

Important note
In order to defeat the final boss, you need to collect 3 sacred items, a Magmenta, a mirror, and a sword. According to the Walkthrough, there are two places you can get the Magmenta and Mirror, but only one place you can get the sword. Keep this in mind when doing the routing for this game.
Tips
Divide the tasks.
Everyone has own strengths and weaknesses. Make your team members work on different jobs in order to improve efficiency. This is crucial.
Keep in contact.
Use a private and secure chat group of your choice to talk with your teammates about your progress, discoveries, ideas, and share your files.
Play it a lot first.
Game mechanics are easier to understand by playing the game casually, with some code cheating if necessary. Start TASing when you feel that you know enough.
Take note of everything.
Any trick and glitch may come useful in a way or another, even if it does initially not seem. Also remember that your discoveries may come useful after the contest.
Try anything.
Even after you've finished TASing the game, use the remaining time to try and improve the run. A sudden discovery can turn the tide of the contest.
Don't procrastinate
You may make mistakes. However, you have the ability to fix these mistakes but only if you give yourself the time to be able to.
Don't give up.
there is still always the chance for motivation to plummet. Try to keep at it even if you hit a roadblock.
I would like to wish you all the best of luck, the best of fun, and declare the contest started!

No worries. ACE is pretty easy in this game. It'll just be two months of triggering it the fastest.
It'll also take me a while to get into it, as well.
This is punishment for tricking me into doing Donald Land.

EZ and I have a bit of a rapport... Don't take what he's saying too seriously.
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero

It's been decided that the winning team of this contest will get to slap EZGames with a fish.

Actually, he gave us a choice, like the game gives you multiple paths to choose from:
EDIT:
BTW, what are the contest rules regarding changing any of these settings?

It’s come to my attention that you can set the difficulty of the game using cheat codes.
These difficulties do not change the amount of enemies on screen, they make you take more damage and you deal less damage. It does not seem like it will make for an entertaining tasing experience. So I’m gonna have everyone stay at the default difficulty setting.

Apparently there was a rule that you cant change logos or team names after signups close, I think that's a stupid rule so I changed it.
I love this new logo

I would like to be removed from my team.
Since the contest started, I haven't done anything at all and have not communicated with my team outside of small forum PMs.
I feel ashamed to let my team down like this and I didn't expect it to go like this but I have to face the situation: I'm working a 100% job and barely have time except on the weekend which I need to recover health and fitness. There are a lot of things I should be doing which are difficult to get motivated for as it is, and I shouldn't block myself from doing these things by working on this contest.
Also, unlike in previous contests where I had fun experiences optimizing and running the games on a serious level, this time I find it very difficult to find any motivation. TASing isn't quite as fun and enticing to me as it used to be. I will have to consider outside circumstances and my motivation better before I join future contests.
I deeply apologize and hope for your understanding.
I'm working a 100% job and barely have time except on the weekend which I need to recover health and fitness.
Even if you can't do TAS work, you could probably still be useful by looking at the WIPs of your team and give feedback or provide ideas for new strats. There's always something that can be overlooked by 3 people.
I do understand your choice if you decide to go though. Best of luck to you and your team.
