Dahna: Megami Tanjou was released in 1991 only in Japan and in Korea.
Movie features:
  • Emulator used: BizHawk 2.2
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Hardest difficulty
  • Genre: Platform
Memory addresses:
0EB9 - orc (2,460)
0FAE - soldier left (4,160)
0EAE - soldier right (4,160)
0F35 - knight (6,060)
1AE5 - magi (17,800)
0E4D - swordman (21,800) (35,500)
0E5D - Octopus (31,500)
0DCD - shadow (40,000)
0E7D - mage (41,000)
Moving
Swinging sword in air 18 frames before landing is to shorten the recovery time by 4 frames.
Magic
You get magic only by killing mages. Not very effective against bosses.
First level is fire. Second is fog (useless in TAS). Third level is thunder (looks morel ike lava).
I mainly used magic against orcs that otherwise would have a invulnerability time of 4 seconds after every two hits.
Once I used magic in knight boss to remove one cycle of waiting.
Magic can not be used anymore in the final stage, the castle after the bridge.
Key moments:
02,500 - After testing I found using two magic here and one in knight boss is the fastest way by only 7 frames.
19,070 - In stage 3 these guards have to be killed or they call a lot of enemies.
21,370 - I take a hit from Imp to be able to cast a spell earlier and kill an off-screen orc.
31,350 - Skip rescuing ogre (or giant accord to manual) to advance much faster in following stage.
32,760 - I have the spend time to get one magic. The mage only appears after certain enemies have been killed. Now with 3rd level magic I can kill the orc off screen again saving a lot of time.
40,000 - Shadow boss: If you hit her when she is airborne her recovery time is faster. You reduce the damaging cycle from 86 frames to 70.
43,220 - Here you see how tough the orcs are without being able to cast magic.
45,260 - I get one soldier to back off off-screen and vanish.
This was my second BizHawk project I made a year ago. I don't know if I'll submit Rastan Saga II.
Thanks for fsvgm777 for giving BizHawk installation packet that worked on my computer!

ThunderAxe31: Judging.
ThunderAxe31: This run is enough optimized, as all the obvious time saves available have been put in use.
I'm personally unsure about entertaining, since the movie doesn't feature anything particularly out of ordinary. Still, there are currently 5 Yes votes and 1 Meh vote, so I'll assume that the movie has been overally apprecciated.
Accepting for Moons.

If you are asking me, yes it would. I'm just too lazy to make them myself.

This game is beautiful and the run is well executed, however the movie doesn't feature anything that makes it clear that it's a form of tool-assisted gameplay. I don't find it boring, but on the other hand there is nothing surprising happening in the whole movie. Despite currently having 4 Yes votes and 1 Meh vote, no one did write a post with their thoughts about this movie. Can I please have some opinions?

Why did you jump a lot even on flat ground? I think I saw a tiny bit of landing lag every time you landed.
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero

Jumping is lot faster than walking. Even with that little landing lag.
