Hey-o! Welcome to 'Mickey no Tokyo Disneyland Daibouken', or as it would have been known in the US as 'Mickey's Great Adventure in Tokyo'. This is a japanese exclusive Mickey Mouse game, which was presumably made to advertise Tokyo Disneyland, or something. Unique to it is the balloon mechanic, which can be used to move faster.

Stage comments

Pirate Land

Yaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
This stage is fairly straightforward. The Pete fight can be beaten rather easily, since you can force him to never attack after his first move.

Big Thunder Mountain

This stage has some rather annoying climbing you have to do, which isn't exactly great with how moving upwards works (In particular landing).
Railroad(?) Pete can also be prevented from attacking pretty easily, only difference having to jump to attack really.

Splash Mountain

Easily the most annoying stage, due to the abundance of water. Luckily you can completely skip all of the slow moving tourist boats scattered around the level, which saves a lot of time.
Pete here just summons a few easy to kill crocodiles, and then falls or w/e. Lame boss.

Haunted Mansion

Probably the lengthiest stage, as it has a few minibosses and puzzles that need solvin'.
Ghost Pete can be prevented from doing a few of his slower attacks by, get this, jumping. Elsewise it's a rather straightforward fight.

Space Mountain

Another rather puzzle heavy level. Warps and stuff, y'know.
This level's Pete fight uses the powers of SNES optical illusions to throw you off, as tilting the level doesn't actually do anything. He can't be stunned long enough to chain attacks against him, so I just had to deal.

Cinderella's Castle

Last stage, and the most unique out of all of them. It's got wrecking balls and ice. ~Crazystuffiknow~
The dragon miniboss can be easily dealt with due to a flaw in his AI where he'll go towards the lower right corner if you get too close. This saves on having to set any water balloons down, and besides it just looks funny.
The last Pete fight is pretty paint by numbers, kill-those-guys sort of stuff.

Other comments

Thanks to Exonym for suggesting this game. Seriously, that guy is full of neat games he knows :3.
Feel free to ask any questions, as I take damage quite a few times on purpose over the course of the run.
Suggesting frames 69835 and 72018 for the screenshot.

Possible Improvements

-The three button puzzle in Space Mountain can be completed with just one button. Would save half a second.

Tompa: Judging business going on.

Tompa: Replaced the movie with one with more text commentary. Inputs are the same.

Tompa: A nice and well-received run. Let's accept it for publication!

Glad to see one of my wishlist games completed. The result is impressive if you know how hard the balloon mechanic is to properly control in real time. Yes vote here

Interesting game, the red balloon reminds me of the game Twinbee: Rainbow Bell Adventures, where you can fly by charging the jump button... Anyways, it was a nice game to watch, voting yes

This run leaves me breathless. Kidding aside, I found some of the movement to be a bit erratic. Some lines you took seemed inefficient at first glance, for example, requiring you to move backwards because you overshot your destination. I trust that it's actually carefully optimized, but to a casual observer, I say it looks a little sloppy.

Yeah, it is optimized. The balloon mechanic just propels you too fast to slow down properly, even if it's only done for a frame.

I'd request the new judges to set the tier in the corresponding form of the submission. It's the only way to actually sort the submissions page by status and instantly see what's being published and what's accepted, otherwise it's all mixed.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

17th came today and there were no subs. So time to teach people how to use lsnes and subtitle extraction! Subbing 101. lsnes to BizHawk with Subs! Now if you didn't know this TAS had subs in it. Bwaaaaaaaa Yes, the subs are implemented within lsnes file (lsmv). Now there is no way to extract these subs from within lsnes but there is in BizHawk. Heavenly Tune sfx Now after loading the ROM which was used you either drag the lsmv file into BizHawk or import the movie with BizHawk's movie import thingy. Now when you preview the Subs within BizHawk it would be fine. Right. Wrong. No wait... it's either Somewhat Correct or Overlapping text. But when you put the subs within the video after extracting from BizHawk it makes a mistake. Now before we get into the issues on what could happen get your favorite text editor out. Mine's Notepad++ and open the .srt that you extracted from BizHawk. Now sometimes you get something like this: 1 00:20:43,791 --> 00:41:31,743 <font>Thanks for sticking around so long. Enjoy the credits! </font> What you want to do is remove "<font>" and " </font>" from the subs as it's just leftover garbage which isn't required. Yes this is including any extra space been the text too. (Which you cannot see unless you quote my post and you would see that ! and </font> have a few spaces in between.) There was missing text involving colour and the hex for the colour. Now there are 2 forms of issues. 1) Text continuing to pile up ontop of one another. Example 2) The text is preformed with \N so every new line will just grow and grow (More annoying). Which I don't have the example for because I lost my file example :V What do you do? Well, you get yourself aegisub and manually fix all this. I'm not joking. When you do this make sure you have the video loaded into aegisub as the process will be much quicker as you are able to view frames. Wait, how do I manually fix this? Load up lsnes Load up the ROM Load up the TAS file (with the subs in it) Goto Movie > Edit Subtitles And start copying those numbers into aegisub. That's that. Now if you're an encoder/publisher and you have the logo. Goto line 1 (I like being safe on this) Goto Timing > Shift Times (Ctrl+I) Time: 0:00:02.00 Forward. Ok Now the subs have been moved to include your logo. Anyways. Here are the subs for this TAS. Time is not modified for the encoder/publisher's logo. And judging the game itself and seeing the bottom being covered up by the text an .ass might be required to not cover that. (By being repositioned above it) Oh and if something is a playful word which cannot fit in the screen, play with it. Here's what it would look normally: Alternately aka the more sane/boring method. To export subtitles from an LSMV movie file, you can do the following: 1) Load the movie file you want to export subtitles from in lsnes. 2) Navigate to File -> Save -> Subtitles in the menu bar. This will bring up a file dialog, allowing you to export the subtitles to the .sub format.
