I don't think you guys should get Flavio. Yes, it's pretty funny, but I think we could just save that for the 100% run if it ever happens. If he really does lag some cutscenes, it seems like it would just be a waste of time.

We've decided not to get him mainly because Almo, the current WR holder, wanted to see what time the game could get down to. We might plan on routing out 100%, in which we would surely get Flavio.

The Flavio trick sounds funny but from how you've described it, it's far from being a TAS-only trick, in fact it doesn't require reflexes at all, let alone superhuman ones. People who want to see this can do it easily for themselves by playing TTYD.

I owned this game and had no idea. I think this would be hilarious to see in a published run, the massive amount of cutscenes later in the game would be much funnier to watch with him just standing there like a grinning idiot.

You're right, as long as you can pull off the Fish Glitch (which isn't hard to do), it doesn't require any skill at all to talk to Flavio and have him join you.

Eh? How did that particular section go again? 1. Becomes Invincible 2. Attack 3. Atack again? 4. End battle and start cutscene Mind showing an encode of what happens if an auidience/prop attacked? I think I had a savefile right before the last boss. I hope something can come out of this. Edit: Uh...I don't have a savefile right before the last boss. Can you please make one from the movie for me?

Mario or his partner needs to attack her three times after she becomes invincible. Since a stage prop doesn't count as an attack by one of them, the fastest method is to jump with Mario and then have two Bomb Squad bombs explode at two different times to count as the second and third attacks. We don't have an encode of it. We just moved on because it didn't save any time.

Huh. What happens if a stage prop hits her the turn she becomes invincible? (Right after she transforms but before the end of the turn)

It doesn't make a difference. As soon as she becomes invincible is when you need the three attacks from Mario/partner to hit her.

Chapter 5 was mostly skipped and 6 and 7 were short, so those went fast. We mostly worked on Chapter 8 and getting the best luck manipulation during the Shadow Queen battle.

Is that the only part that requires heavy luck manipulation? If so, maybe those beam animations could be cancelled so that Almo would stop cringing. :P

The whole run required luck manipulation. The RNG runs all the time, and advances different amounts of time depending on what's going on, so all the rooms and battles after going back and fixing the beams would have to be individually resynced (basically redoing a good part of the run).
