Thank you guys, I promise to go slow this time, but Riverside Race is slowing me down too much... /wait for 13 frames gave me the best luck so far, I can pick up almost all the bananas in the first possible frame, but then the last banana appear on the left most side of the screen. //hm, the first possible frame allows me to finish the stage 12 frames slower, so waiting for 13 frames to enter the stage is not so good after all...

pretty bad luck on some of the banana bonuses, but those time savers were implemented along with a new one; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/297114593/Dooty-DKC3-105p.smv

Are you referring to the Arich fight? It looked a little different at the beginning. Or maybe getting hit at the end of Tidal Trouble. Either way, keep up the good work!

That looked very nice! 179 frames faster than your previous run is a neat improvement. Good stuff :)!

Thank you guys, I'm doing Mekanos at the moment, as it gave me better luck than Cotton Top Cove this time.

no, Arich is Tompa's suggestion, I mean a sacrifice in Squeals on Wheels that saved some frames in Springin' Spiders.

Oops, that's what I meant when I said Tidal Trouble, haha (I know, they're completely different =/). Is that lua script useful? I can add stuff to it if you want.

Sure it is, a good addition would be the speed of the Toboggan, and also the Boat/Turbo Ski Boat.

I was trying to hold it, but just watched the current WIP. Very nice Dooty, it is notable how polished this version is becoming, very different from the test run. The banana bonuses are incredible (instantly picking the bananas). Also appreciate all the help that Tompa and ElectrSpecter are giving, even if not working directly with the run they are sure making it much better overall. Keep up the good work guys, I'm really enjoying how this is turning out!

Those guys are really helpful, Tompa pointed out a big mistake in Barrel Drop Bounce, and it was corrected in this wip; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1844438167/Dooty-DKC3-105p.smv /I promised to go slow this time, but Razor Ridge was just "copy and paste", so here's a new wip; http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1041523622/Dooty-DKC3-105p.smv //my copy and paste skills are worth nothing in Creepy Caverns and Lightning Lookout, but I'm almost done with Kaos Kore.

Niiiice! Are you planning on submitting soon? If not Tompa or myself may find an improvement in the first level, forcing you to start the run over again. >:3 Seriously though, I'll take a look, hopefully tonight.

Really nice job! 17 seconds faster is a neat improvement! I'm going to watch through it all as soon as I got the time, which will probably be tomorrow. I'll hopefully not have anything to complain about, but you never know what the Evil Tompa will mention. Congrats!

Congratulations Dooty! You just finished the SNES TAS of 2010. How do you feel? On a serious note really great job! I was expecting this to come and now its finally finished. :)

Hrm... Okay, the one complaint I do have is still with the Bear Coin in Ropey Rumpus. It is faster, as far as I can tell, to take the lower route, skip that Bear Coin, and go for the one instead in Tyrant Twin Tussle. It's probably only a difference of ~20 frames, but here is an unoptimized test I did showing how to get past the bees on the lower path. Hesitating for a couple frames here and there (preferably the first couple frames after the green circling bees spawn) will allow you to get past them without losing Parry. Other than that, it looks great. I loved how you pulled off throwing the keg really fast in Tracker Barrel.

Thank you guys, I'm finishing the submission text, so any new time saver will be in the submission text only, sorry but I'm not going to redo the run.

Can I use this WIP to get an early encode started, or are there any slight changes in the final submission version?

Yes, it's not going to be changed, it's the same file that will be submited.

I'm not sure what his plans are for the authors. When he TASed DKC2 he kept Comical and nxcy in the author info. This run is probably like 25% Tompa and my own work, though I believe Tompa requested to not be listed as an author. I can't really speak for either Dooty or Tompa though.

After this, all that's left for Dooty to dominate is DK64.

ElectroSpecter is right, up to Low-G Labyrinth I reused his and Tompa's wips, so, the authors must be Dooty, ElectroSpecter & Tompa. I'm editing the submission text to include this and will post it here as soon as I finish. (I'm at Mekanos right now) //The submission text is getting a little long, so I better not put it here, but it's getting good, it is based on the official players guide and I think you'll like it. I did not mention any names on it, so we can easily edit it if necessary.

Oh my, this sounds like it's shaping up to be epic ;)
