Thread revival time! I am going to be making a new run for this game! I bet my life on the fact that I can sub an hour. If you hold a+b+select+start it resets the game, meaning almost every cutscene will be skipped! I estimated that there will be around 30 (!) resets in this run. (would that be a TASvideos record?)

Holy shit, the game had a soft reset all this time? Getting around the cutscenes alone would improve the watchability of the run by 5000%. Looking forward to this!

Also the soft reset takes like 4 seconds to get back to the game. If you SR right when you enter the vortex thing at the end of the level, you can go right to the next level.

What you should improve... the author of the currently published movie always walked off ledges instead of jumping. Besides, good luck!

I started an improvement to the current run awhile ago... http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1639492700/WarioLand4TAS.Tompa.vbm Let's see if you can spot what's new in that one compared to the previous version. Feel free to continue the run, I was just bored one day so this is probably nothing I'll finish.

It's looking very good so far at least. There are some corner boost that you might have missed in Palm Tree Paradise. I'm going to do some tests. Edit: Never mind. Those corner boosts were useless as they requires you to destroy more blocks. Badpotato: No, he won't take the music discs. Except one that is in your way.

I saved 29 more frames on the fight. It's way faster to do what I did to get behind him. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/111716347/WL4TAS.vbm

Nice! The way I got behind Spoiled was a pretty clunky-looking part of my run. Keep it up

Hmm... By the looks of this, a glitchless run and a glitchful run would be pretty different from each other. Er, which difficulty level are you doing again?
Why, oh, why do I even <i>try</i> to understand my own species?

The original plan was to do it on Super Hard. But with this redo, he has switched to Hard instead.

Does that mean this run would not obsolete the current run?

It will obsolete the current run. It actually contains mostly normal play, even with the glitch, simply because the glitch takes such a short time to do each time.

Is there a particular reason for that change?

Firstly, because you need to start from SRAM to play on super hard. Secondly, cosmetically, the beeping from low health gets really annoying and thirdly, in later levels, super hard is not sufficiently different from hard in order to warrant a separate "start from SRAM" category. T^hese are the reasons that I chose Hard over Super hard.
