Hey, people. Never seen me before, eh? I've been a lurking around the forums and general site until an hour or two ago. So I decided to register. I love forums. And I like Tool-assisting. xD Anyway, in the future I'm gonna be making Megaman X, 1, 2, or 3 TAS videos. I'm not really much of a speed-runner in Tool-assist. I mean I can do it, but I don't really like speed-running a whole game. I prefer perfect playing. And I like going fast, like in speed-runs, but I don't like speed being the main priority. Perfection is my main priority. Thus, superplaying. TAS. I might do a few speed-runs here and there in the future, but I much prefer actually fighting bosses, with perfection. Or near-perfection. xD Sooo.... Is this site restricted to only speed-running, or can I submit videos of me fighting bosses perfectly? That being said, I don't actually know how to post a video in the forums. P.S. I don't really know all the great tools used in Emulators, I just use frame advance most of the time, and use framenumber-cues, (Which I keep track of prior to playing) To know when to do something. It takes forever, but I don't think there's any better way to play so good. *Edit* Whoa, that avatar is huge. I thought it was gonna like, shrink it down or something, lol. I'll fix it in a bit. What a pain.

'lo and welcome to TASvideos, enjoy your stay! As for your avatar, you really should shrink it down. In general, 100x100 pixels is allowed here. Since fighting bosses perfectly is already a part of speedrunning, there really is no point in submitting videos in which you only fight bosses. There are playarounds (such as the SNES Super Mario Bros 3 run), but those mostly show glitches and other neat bits that you won't see in a regular run.

Yeah, our forum software lacks avatar resizers... it's quite a pain for when situations such as this do happen. Either way, welcome aboard the pain train!

Ah, but in most speedruns, boss fights are avoided (if possible) or beaten in one or two hits by some glitch or super weapon, that's for the speed of the whole run. Now what I mean is, I don't want speed for the whole run to be a priority, I want speed, while playing entertainingly against a boss for about a minute before killing it. Especially bosses people love. I guess the MAIN thing I'm after is to entertain, in a different way, though. Besides, I don't think I could play any faster than FractalFusion. At least, not for a while. I prefer to do speedruns on my playstation. And toy around with bosses with flawless skill in TAS. For example: In Megaman X2, the fastest way to beat the game is to get all of Zero's parts, so that Black Zero appears, and then the real Zero destroys the false Zero, and then you don't have to fight that boss, but get go advance in the game for better speed. But I don't think any TAS run shows a fight against Zero in MMX2. Which is who I am in the process of fighting. Btw, how DO you submit a video to the forums?

I'll warn you right now that this community tends to react poorly to submissions that don't complete the game. Pretty much the only time that's allowed is when the portion of the game that is not played in the movie is very similar to the portion that is played (e.g. only doing the last few levels of Doctor Mario). That doesn't mean we can't appreciate what you're doing, or that we can't give you comments and criticisms for your work. Just that e.g. a TAS of just the Zero fight from MMX2 would not be accepted for publication, and would sadly attract a number of hurtful comments if it showed up in the submissions queue.

Aw well. I understand. I'll work on a speedrun, sometime. Though, unfortunately, I don't know all the tools commonly used for TAS. I just slow-mo it most of the time.
