Highest rated Addams Family movie, but constant high speed makes it a bit monotonous for me. Yet I know it's a good movie in itself. Any more opinions?

I agree with nymx. For me, there is an amount of different moves enough important to do not make it monotonous.

Personally I feel that while it wasn't particularly repetitive, there wasn't enough there that stood out to me about the run besides the speed.

I think this is a great example of what a TAS should be and there seems to be something there for everyone. For Non-TASers the franchise is well known, the length is about right for someone who's not super committed, it's fast and varied enough, there is good playaround (like in the train autoscroller) that keepnit from getting stale. For people new to TASing the gameplay is overall fairly simple but provides a good example of the type of movement to maintain speed. It has good examples and write-ups of glitches (clips, zips, level/screen wraps, etc) that are common in other games. For veteran TASers the thorough writeup with backstory, timelines, glitch explanations, and memory addresses really ties the whole thing together.

Mittenz's post was quite convincing, also absence of low ratings means something, so I starred it.

feos, I know how much you’ve wanted Axiom Verge to be starred. After watching the new movie for it, I definitely think it’s an improvement in entertainment since it uses the teleporter gun less often than the previous movie. So I’ll be suggesting it. [4008] Linux Axiom Verge by keylie in 24:48.86

Why this http://tasvideos.org/1962M.html and this http://tasvideos.org/3665M.html movies not having star tier? They are surely desrved it, by both speed and eterainment, even if they had been beaten. I mean SMB warpless is one of the hardest categories for WR TAS and 18:38.22 stayed for 6 years and was very optimized, when MrWint's movie beat that movie that stayed 6 years.

If I'm not mistaken, only one TAS of the game X (or of the game series within one platform) can be marked as a Star movie, or else every popular title would be "Starred".
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

Are you planning to go through all 1172 obsoleted Moons movies and check which of them deserve a star? Are you suggesting featuring obsoleted starred movies on the Front Page? I don't think starring obsoleted movies retroactively helps anyone in any way.

I'm doing my own SMB warpless TAS now, trying to found this things myself and I know that this ones are more then deserving star tier. I have no idea about other games.

Probably because those runs didn't provide as much entertainment as the current fastest warpless TAS.

OK, but can you unstar obsoleted Super Mario Bros. warps TASes? Some of them have star tier, when even current TAS don't have.

Not that I disagree with this but what makes it different to changing an obsoleted movie from moons to vault? Like how it’s done in this thread: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17329

Which obsoleted movies did I move from Moons to Vault?

Dragon view. Which I had suggested here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=471909#471909

Looks like an exception to me, also it was trivial to decide since it was the same branch as the currently published one, and they both clearly belong to vault. Most of the time it doesn't matter either where an obsoleted movie resides. At least with Moons/Vault it's relatively easy to decide. With Stars, it's a waste of time, because we don't explicitly feature obsoleted Stars alongside current Stars, aside from a single link on a single page.

The credibility of the Stars tier has reached a new low. Suggested remedy: 1. Remove all current Star designations. 2. Establish a Council of Starmen (minimum 3 members). 3. Have the Council decide an initial 100 movies to promote to Stars. 4. Promote those 100 movies to Stars. 5. Dissolve the Council. 6. All subsequent promotions to Stars are nominated and decided as part of the Awards every January.

According to the judgment notes, it was temporarily placed in Moons to gather votes. This is not something that deserves alarm.

That would surely be helpful, though not as helpful as 7. Read.

Even though this movie looks stylistically identical to the NMG branch that is starred and has great ratings, I'd like to see this run's ratings. After all, this movie inherits all the problematic aspects of [3653] SNES Super Metroid by Sniq in 35:58.31. Then there's arguably less difference between this and the current NMG than there was between the previous 100% and previous NMGs. As a result, I'd prefer having a Star related discussion separated, and well after this run gets published and gains enough post-publication feedback.

While I don't agree with Arc's note on "credibility", arguably Coca Cola Kid has low enough ratings that it should be moved back to moon tier. There's plenty of other (and higher-rated) movies of the Sonic Game Engine in star tier, already.
