Funny that this thread was revived after two years! Anyways, any Tas vidmaker that is a Crash Bandicoot fan should be ashamed that there is no TAS for Crash 2 100% in the PSX section of videos! o.o
Mega Man Battle and Chase: the US/PAL version has a huge regional difference that removes Chest, Plum, and Ripot from the Japanese version, this will make speed running Grand Prix more quicker. That is all I give ya. Better find exploits yourself.
There are some Net Yaroze (fan made) Playstation games that I think would be worth a TAS.
1) Terra Incognita, a 3D platformer with RPG trappings. Already has a speedrun to copy!

2) Bouncer 2, a puzzle game which lacks a full playthrough on youtube. TAS can play faster than real time by using the highest difficulty, grabbing level warps, taking advantage of the bloke nudging controls and the power meter mechanic (if you destroy enough blocks without any bloke touching the ground you skip the rest of the level).

3) Psychon, a top down shooter.

4) Pushy II, yet another Sokoban clone with a couple of extra gimmicks.
50 levels.

5) Blitterboy. Shoot pac-man ghosts and rescue babies. Has two different kinds of endless modes, both of which eventually loop.

6) Time Slip, a platformer where you interact with your past selves (but no touching!).

I think this is a full list of all Net Yaroze games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXuSr3PdM0M
With the release of the Playstation Classic, I think it's worth looking at the current status of all the preloaded games of the console (US + Japan)

I would like to see more of the Doraemon games here. But really, this platforming game is quite straightforward, and the stage layouts could be better for speed running purposes.
There are 2 alternate stages depending on which gadget is selected in Stages 2 and 4. I believe both Stages 2A and 4A are easier and shorter than 2B and 4B. Perhaps the game should be played on Easy, in which you take half damage, Stage 7 ends earlier and the Final Stage has a longer time limit before you lose one of your characters.
This game is also available on Sega Saturn, but with much more slowdown, especially on console. The Saturn version also has more health items and removed two types of hazards from Stage 6, making this version much easier than the PSX version.

Racing lagoon - a racing game by squaresoft that plays pretty close to a midnight club game. Like flashing headlights at opponents to start a race. There exist a speedrun on youtube to carbon copy.

I would love to see Poy Poy TASed. My brother and I somehow managed to find a copy of this game when we were young and it literally played the game until the disc was too badly damaged to read anymore. We were never able to replace it because the game is quite rare.
It would be super fun to see the kind of tricks and frame-perfect beatdowns a TAS could deliver in the original party brawler.

I would love to see vigilante 8 second offense quest mode with no indirect attacks. Not sure what the weapon is called, but it fires into the sky and follows an opponent. Because its so slow, it doesn't always hit. So it would be pop some shots out there and hope it connects. Not very entertaining

*bump*
Nightmare creatures 2: basically bloodborne demake. Its really crazy to see how similar bloodborne is to nc2. Its almost like they ripped it off or a remaster or it. Thats just where the gaming industry is going. Remasters
PS1 game from when I was real young. My cousin gave me his copy when it became apparent we couldn't visit him very often anymore. Levels are random, but with the right RNG seed I think a TAS could be possible.
Level content resembles snake in a strange way; I think a TAS for it would be super satisfying if nothing else.
Circuit Beat, Rally de Africa and Rally de Europe
Three PS1 racing games. All made by a company called Prism Arts. These are the only three games that they made. Rally de Africa is easily the best of the three, so I'd like to see it (and perhaps the others) TAS'd
Also that Bomberman racing game for PS1, can't remember what it was called
Another cool Simple 1500 Series game, The Block Kuzushi, a Breakout-like. Would be very interesting as a TAS, due to the amount of control you have over the ball. Pressing X will briefly charge the paddle and allow you to charge and put spin on the ball. A charged ball will pass thru any block it hits, and the greater the speed of the paddle the longer the charge stays on the ball. This allows you to break a ton of blocks very quickly. The game also allows you to use your extra balls at any time with Select, and you keep them as long as they are still alive at the end of the level. So I imagine a TAS would spawn all the balls at the start and charge thru everything. Finally there are branching routes, I am not sure my route is the fastest, but it seemed the best for RTA.

Kyoro-chan no Purikura Daisakusen, 2D platformer. The point of the game is to go around and collect 100 photos, but you can just run to the exit in every level. There's a few skips using the Flower powerup, but other than that, it's all about keeping momentum and bouncing off enemies. There's some randomness that's not understood in 3-2 with the wind cycles and 3-3 with the avalanches. The WR run has a spreadsheet in the description full of strats per screen.

"Pretty simple" is an understatement, cause it isn't.
There's a lot of RNG at play, a lot of things that need to be accounted for (positioning and timing), and bioses that need to be dealt with which gives different seeds.
