I recommend you go outside for a good while, after submitting the run. Your pace at TASing this game doesn't seem healthy.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

I'm going to echo Mothrayas's sentiments and suggest you also take a break. In any case, well done!

Awesome TAS! That's a nice hack, too. Weapon switching is useful for the TAS, also a nice graphical update. People might actually find it to be an acceptable hack for publication. This is kinda off-topic from TAS discussion, but... I like the song choices for the hack, and they're mostly done well, but there's little subtleties that are missing from some songs that just drive me crazy. The 50's-ish battle theme from Earthbound is missing some very crucial pitch bends, and the swing rhythm of the Kirby victory theme isn't quite right. Not bad by any means, but could be much better with just little tweaks. I'm still waiting to find a hack with all-original music and no covers, but that's just me.

Well, this is mostly in SMW hacks. Also, yeah, level end theme is competely broken.

While t3h Icy found an useless suiciding glitch for Mega Man 4, I found one in Mega Man 5.
I tested this glitch out and I found out what happened: The banks $0348 (Mega Man's current screen number which was 03) and $0378 (Mega Man's vertical on screen position B4) switched values. Maybe this might not be a useless suiciding glitch. I can probably use this to get the checkpoint at the boss door and teleport right to the boss. I tested this in Darkman stage 1 and you will not believe what just happened: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1115291529/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%205%20%28U%29-stage08glitch.fm2 I finally pulled off the glitch in Crystal Man's stage! Look at $0390 and you will see that the screen number keeps increasing to FF until it loops back to 00. It takes a minute but this is just a demonstration run. After I fell back into the normal screen I make Mega Man visible again and kill myself via Super Arrow death trap and he ended up teleporting to the room right before the boss. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/793873976/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%205%20%28U%29-stage07glitch.fm2

stage07glitch.fm2 is very interesting. The map number is single-mindedly increased. It looks like Woodman stage or DelayCurrentBeginScreenChanged of MM2? :) It seems to be able to do such a revival death even in other stages.

I just thought about this: I might have to collect a lot of extra lives to pull it off for those stages too. That won't be a problem since it's really easy to get extra lives from killing enemies in this game. Here is the demonstration for the Dark Man Stage 4 glitch incase anybody wants to see what happened in this situation: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1668660772/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%205%20%28U%29-stage0Bglitch.fm2 I also improved the teleportation glitch in Crystal Man's stage: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1514879332/GlitchMan-Mega%20Man%205%20%28U%29-stage07glitchimproved.fm2 This time I fell in the spikes on screen 15 (screen #021 of 255) instead of taking the Super Arrow death shortcut. I looked in the memory viewer and saw what happened: The enemy's walking sub-pixel speed switched to Mega Man's current speed and the y-position of the enemy's rolling head gets transferred to Mega Man's vertical screen number. I know what really happened: There was a sprite overflow (it can only fit 24 sprites) so the value for the walking/falling speed gets written into the next series of addresses (the x,y coordinates) and vice versa. Ex: 0330-0347: x-coordinate, 0348-035F: horizontal screen number If it somehow exceeds the max limit, the data for the on-screen x-coordinate can overflow into the horizontal screen number for Mega Man ($0348). The way the memory addresses are set up makes it so that I should have the vertical position of the overflowing sprite data close enough to the bottom of the screen so that it won't be a long fall. I should also find some nearby spikes to kill myself since he becomes invisible with this glitch and is immune to everything but spikes. I looked in the excess level data of some stages (screens after the "boss room") which I access by making 002A (number of screens for a room) equal FF and 002B (what screen you are on in that room) equal FF to see if there were any opportunities for Mega Man to commit suicide if there aren't any spikes in the stage.

In the screen we select "START" or "PASSWORD", can save a frame with pressing A instead of pressing start button.

Nice! I guess every frame helps. Do you know of any work that's currently being done to make larger improvements to this movie?
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

I don't have any idea from me now :( But japanese MM5 player discovered pukapukka- warp in the crystal man's level. This glitch can be faster than GlitchMan's Napalm bug in the crystal man's level. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm22723488

I've investigated the Crystal stage death warp mentioned above for RTA and figured it would be relevant here too. What I've learned is posted in a topic on the Mega Man RTA forums. The gist of it is as GlitchMan explained for the napalm bomb version. Object slots get filled and Mega Man's values get corrupted. The suicide setup does the same with death explosion bubbles instead, and the relevant details are that your current room number is now something very high which lets your respawn in the boss corridor, and the new enemy's object index gets written over the respawn timer, delaying it by around 40 seconds. The things to optimize here are the downtime between taking hits, and the value that gets written to the respawn timer. What I haven't figured yet is why sometimes I can't get the glitch to happen on any frame, which seems to happen consistently if I set up the relevant enemy index as 08 and also on some setups where it's 09. It seems likely that there would be other enemies which could be used to trigger the glitch, but finding those is more work which I haven't got to yet. edit - As I added in that thread, the issue isn't the subroutine's return value, but omitting the check for a status flag set there. There are few places where that occurs, and being able to warp to another room isn't useful in any of the other cases.

Certainly it is useful here. But can this glitch be used for RTA as well? I am not familiar with programming. So it is difficult for me to understand every words you said. Using this glitch or not is what I think about now. Although it does save a little time, MegaMan cannot get "M", which makes it difficult to design the route of the 1st stage in ProtoMan Castle. Anyway, it is a great discovery. Thanks.

I had missed this, sorry, I don't read this forum regularly and the email notification I set up got marked as spam. The glitch is doable RTA, but the route overall isn't quite worth it. There's another post about that on the RTA forum, but to summarize, the real issue is skipping the Beat letter which puts you at the mercy of RNG for Wily Capsule, with very low odds of ending up ahead. Skipping M-tank isn't a huge issue as you can do Dark 3 without one or get it in Stone or Dark 2 instead. Also very little of that was my own discovery, most of it was already in the previous posts in this thread.

It is very amazing. Well done. So, are you working on the whole MM5 movie now? I have been looking forward to the new movie for a long time. With Polari's investigation, this excellent movie will be worth expecting. I have made a 5000-frame WIP saving 24 frames in STAR MAN stage. Hope this can be useful. WIP

Man, I'm LOVING IT! No more boss re-fights in not just one, but two Mega Man games! Looking forward to both submissions :)
