This is my first Started solo TAS, but not my first submitted. This project has taken me quite sometime now. Rockman 3 is the original Japinese version of our Megaman 3. This ROM change makes the video start 214 frames faster, so i am really 2750 frames(45.83 seconds) ahead. This wasn't easy. This took alot of thinking, and alot of help.
People I will like to thank:
Finalfighter: For his Zipping techniques.
Bisqwit: For watching over my WIP and his comments to help me ALOT!!
Angerfist: For keeping on for me to finish, and also alot his help.
Shinryuu: For finding some neat techniques!
Adelikat: For the amazing Last wily boss technique. THANKS GUY!

And a VERY special thanks, to DeHackEd. I used his storage space online so many times, i can not thank him enough.

What a day this has been :) This is so easy to vote Yes on. I have looked at many of Vatcherns WIP and know this run is really good. Unlike my run, this run has some really nice glitches which Vatchern uses to the maximum and therefore this run should get accepted. Vatchern Im very proud of you. Kickass movie, great job bro!

I agree with Angerfist, this has been quite a day for the TAS-community. :) You know I've watched pretty much all of your WIPs up until now, Vatchern, so I don't feel like I have to explain why this is an obvious YES. Another point on which I agree with Angerfist is that this should get a star: It's very well played, shows off amazing tricks and possibilities with the physics-engine in megaman, and I could make the list a lot longer, but it's getting kind of late and I should really go to sleep. :) I think I have to plan a "TAS-watching"-day with some friends soon, seeing how many new amazing runs that have been made recently. To sum things up in two words: total ownage! *starts button mashing the YES-button* :) PS: Just a tips, you might want to add in the author's comments that 2608 frames is 43,47 seconds. I for one didn't do the 2608/60 calculation in my head, and I think people will get a better perspective on the improvement if it's measured in seconds. Just a tips.

I never would have thought using the Search Snake on Wily's last form would be faster than the Top Spin... Gets an obvious "yes" from me.

Other than what looked like missed shots against Protoman, it looked like a good solid ownage of the existing movie.

You know, it might be a good idea if I do, in fact, vote... done.

If you're talking about the shots that are fired before Protoman teleports in, I can explain those. There's something that's been deemed the "window of opportunity" (or something similar) during transitions such as those. It's what allows Vatchern to jump down the shaft in the first Geminiman stage without waiting for Protoman to appear. Things such as these "missed shots," needlessly calling Rush, jumping to the raised portion of the room (fight before entering Skull Castle), and opening the menu (done before several boss fights) are intentional to show off this "window of opportunity" and where it presents itself in this game.

I meant that it looked like there were missed shots during the Protoman fights (2 per fight iirc). They went through Protoman, so it may have been an intentional bug display. I don't have any problem with the window of opportunity bugs. Edit: Just so I'm clear, I'm talking about the two shots that happen during (at least) the first two Protoman fights. The shots come *between* other shots that hit Protoman. I saw the original Window of Opportunity bug post and assumed the shot before the first fight was an example of it. I'm also using the "Rockman 3 - Dr Wily no Saigo! (J).nes" ROM, but I have trouble believing that consistently missed shots at Protoman would be the *only* side-effect of using the wrong ROM.

Well DUH they were intentional missed shots. I suggested that because I like seeing the very last frame you can shoot before you get frozen.

Are you saying that he shot ProtoBreakBluesMan too fast, and some of the shots hit him during an invulnerability period?

I think IdeaMagnate is confusing Protoman's own shots for Vatchern's shots. Protoman has no problem eating shots at 30 Hz rate.

Wow, great run! The constant sliding really made the game seem fast after viewing the Mega Man 1 and 2 runs, and I loved all of the glitches you used. Parts I particularly enjoyed: * Your sliding and warping around on the spinning top platforms in the Top Man stage. * The way you almost instantly defeated Proto Man each time. * Your clever use of the Rush Jet, especially where it seemed like you were only using him to avoid the frames lost through a weaponswap. The zipping with him in the Gemini Man redux stage was neat to see too :) * Tons of little glitches, such as your jumping right after you defeat Robo-Air Man and your fake-deaths caused by falling and hitting a spike at the same time. * The complete destruction of the final two bosses. Keep up the great work, I look forwards to viewing more of your runs!

I just watched it, and I loved it. The zipping is really nice, too. I do think this would be worthy of a star hadn't it been for Mega Man and Mega Man 2 already taking up a lot of praise. Still, this is a big yes vote!

Neat stuff! Nice show of glitches, but only thing i didn't like was ruining music in many levels when you *hit* spikes. I would vote yes.. :p Edit: well now I can

Yes, I also liked this run very much. With all of those glitches and faast speed. Very enjoyable. Few things I especially want to point out: Those fakedeaths were quite hilarious. After the first one I went all "wtf? It desynced even though i had the correct rom? ...Man that Vatchern is good!" :) Unfortunately it takes away the music, so when you used the trick in the beginning of the level, the end of the level wasn't so awsome. For the second, usage of those "window of opportynity"s were very nice. As you said some time ago, it keeps the watcher more entertained. Third, the way you used Rush Jet so much to "bug through" places to make it faster was quite nice. A definite YES vote from me. Very entertaining, plus 43 seconds faster than the previous run! [EDIT]: You now going to start the SMB3 run? (or was it even you who talked about it?)
Which run should I encode next? :)

Congratulations Vatchern, this is really impressive. Many suprising tricks along the way, and many many small solutions to get that extra frame faster, which summed up to an entertaining movie. I voted yes, obviously, but this movie doesn't even need a vote right? i bet someone is encoding it right now :)
