Run Comments

You can change weapon with select, select+down for previous weapon, start+select to change to M. Buster instantly, start+select+up for Jet Adaptor and start+select+down for Power Adaptor.

Robot Master Order

I did Sparkman first because he gives you Spark Bullet, which you can charge and use to move faster, this save a ton of time on Chillman Stage and it's his weakness and you obtain the definitive speedrun warpon, Chill Slip, a very fast slide and gives you a moment of vulnerability and is very useful to pass through enemies and spikes. I didn't do Chillman first because Sparkman Stage is mostly an autoscroller and i will not save that much time with the fast slide compared to what i can save on Chillman Stage with the Spark Bullet. The rest of the order is by robots weakness.

Galaxy Vision

Galaxy Vision let you take damage without knockback and gives you a little more iframes to pass through enemies and spikes. You can use this weapon to take items like life and weapon drops. If you take damage while falling with Galaxy Vision actived for some reason Mega Man is pushed down a little bit and you can reach the floor faster.

Floating Glitch

Unlike Galaxy Vision Boost, this glitch mantains Mega Man a little bit more on the air by simply shooting Tomahawk Assist or Pharaoh Flood, i use these two weapons to reach some platforms without losing frames on doing a larger jump and landing 1 or 2 frames later.

Tomahawk Fight

With Galaxy Vision you can shorten his iframes by shooting the exact same moment you hit him, this strat saves a ton of time and the route is made to do this fight fast, that forces me to do Dustman Fight with Spark Bullet, this is not his intended weakness and i can't destroy his transformation attack, but this weapon hits damage close to the real weakness.

Mr. X 3 Stage

There is an autoscroller in this stage where you normally use Power Adaptor to destroy blocks and passing through the stage, but transforming into Power Adaptor or Jet Adaptor makes you loss 1 or 2 frames (depending on how many things are on the screen) so i clipped though the walls to pass without Adaptors.

Dustman Refight

I searched for the good pattern of this boss, where he transforms into Metalman and he stop his iframes, but i can destroy his transformation instantly with his weakness and hit him again to shorten his iframes.

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Replaced the file with an improvement.
feos: Great hack, great run, accepting to Standard (since Moons is not a requirement for hacks anymore).

despoa: Processing...

Working on an improvement that allows me to do Napalm refight faster, saves about 250 frames.

I mentioned in a previous post in the Rockman 2 Basic Master thread that Rockman 6 UH (this hack) is one of the better post-RM4MI hacks out there. Glad to see this TAS does not disappoint; I found it entertaining, with multiple weapon/equipment usage to get through the stages quickly. I also like the different theming for each level, including the Sonic the Hedgehog stage and the third fortress boss Estark from Dragon Quest. The Pokemon boss from Rockman 2 Basic Master wasn't the first time something like this was done!. Also, instant weapon switching is a must for hacks.

I agree so much. Especially in MM6, it is unfortunate how often it is faster to just keep the same weapon rather than using another weapon for something clever just due to the transition time. Instant weapon switching allows for more creativity, variety, and ultimately entertainment value. Also, I voted yes, this is a really nice hack and TAS.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

Question regarding emulator choice out of curiosity: was there any reason for using FCEUX 2.3.0 version (at least this is not a very old one, it's released in 2021 January) ? edit: thanks for the info!

Why do Mega Man hacks like taking graphics from Yoshi's Island so much? Anyway, nice work. Like with most Mega Man TASes, the run was quite fast and entertaining, with little slowing you down. I liked the playarounds during the autoscrollers. Yes vote.
