Hello, I am new to the TAS community, I've watched many and have taken an interest in it. I am by no means here to break records, show off, or anything of that nature. I am more into the entertaining aspect. I like to play games for the most part legitly, using glitches and bugs that don't really mess with the game itself. I don't find enjoyment in beating a game as fast as possible. I rather would like to play through and see what I can do with frame perfect inputs. I play this way because there are just too many people going for first, and being as I am not the best sport when it comes to competition, I tend to do my own thing. I don't know if my videos will make any impact, however I like to think of them more as TAP (Tool Assisted Play through). I am friendly and would like to know if this is something I should pursue. This first video I did is of Super Mario Bros. the first NES game I ever played. It's by no means a record breaker, but I found I could do somethings that I couldn't do normally. I did it in one sitting, and the further I went, the more I learned I could do. I think I will do a second take just to see if I can clean it up a bit. As I am new to this site, if this is the incorrect way to post these, please let me know, thanks. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/58968819321466961Submission #

This is not how the site works and it will never work like this.

Hello DrakeekarD, and welcome to TASvideos! Unfortunately, breaking records and showing off are basically the only two goals of the site :(

Entertainment is actually part of the whole 'showing off' aspect. There are a whole genre of TAS's that are dedicated to just entertainment and not speed. They are called Play Arounds. Frankly, we need more of these, but they almost exclusively use game breaking glitches. Because of this it sounds to me like you are a fan of the glitchless speed runs. There certainly is room for these runs on this site, but game choice is everything and you will absolutely have to go for speed. There is no such thing as an entertaining glitchless playaround.

People spend weeks and months making a single TAS. Using tools is a slow process. There are very few games that are worthy of a submission that can be done in only one sitting (and they certainly won't be entertaining).

This is the perfect way to post your runs. Thank you! your text formatting just needs a little cleaning up. Use the userfile brackets and put the number in between them: [userfile]58968819321466961[/userfile] Good Luck! Hope to see you improve.

Well, it would be super weird if he created a hypothetical universe in his head and then didn't change anything about it.
