So, I saw that Spyro 2's 14 talisman run was multiple minutes behind the real time record and decided I wanted to try fixing that as my first significant TAS. I'm only partway through, but I'm actually a little behind the WR because the community has standardized to PS2 fast disk speed which means that the time I gain in the levels gets eaten away at every loading screen. I think I'll still end up ahead at the end but only just barely. If I don't, is the movie ineligible for submission due to not breaking existing records?

What we mean by this rule is to have superior planning and overall play compared to any existing records. If this TAS does not beat an RTA record due to the RTA record using superior hardware, that would not be counted against you as long as the TAS's play quality is superior.
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero
