Here is a TAS of NES Wolverine that completes the game with warps. For more info on the game check out my warpless submission.
  • Emulator used: FCEUX 2.2.2
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Uses warps
This run wasn't very hard to make but I admit I procrastinated a lot which is why it's here 2 months after the warpless movie. -_-

Stage by stage comments

Most of the info in the warpless submission still applies here, so I'll just write down some additional comments which apply to this movie only.

The First Trial

Warp used almost immediately. The air claw slashing cuts Wolverine's health down just enough so that the countdown doesn't waste any time.

Trial by Air

Unlike the warp movie I save a few frames by taking out some enemies with the claw trick and saving damage for later.

Trial by Traps

Pretty much the same as the warpless run, with a few adjustments for luck that saved a handful of frames near the end of the level.

Trial by Water

Some minor time savings here that I missed in the warpless movie (mostly jumping off ledges). Warp near the end that skips all of the next level.

Trial by Fire

I take a different route near the end of the level. It saves a whole 1 frame over the route in the warpless movie. Hey, everything counts.

Into the Fortress

At the end of the level I save a few frames with a better timed jump which allows me to run past the final enemy before it even fires its weapon.

Defeat Magneto

I control the berzerk mode a little better than in the warpless movie.

The Final Battle

Yeah, this is still pretty straightforward. <_<

Other comments

As you can see there's roughly ~1 second of gameplay improvement over the warpless movie in this run. If I'm ever motivated enough, I may revisit that branch. But for now I think it's just important this game has both these runs finished. Thanks once again to goofydylan8 for his initial run of the game.

Have you tried to save frames by getting to the end of each level with as low life as possible, in order to make the bonus points calculation faster?
my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"

Yes, I go for the minimum health/berzerk meter on each level. Although I think I might've killed an enemy I didn't need to near the end of "Defeat Magneto", I'll look into that and provide a replacement file if so. Edit: Nope, it looks like that despite both meters being slightly smaller the levels fade out on the same frame.

When watching this game, I mostly just think about how good the music is. Guess it indicates some degree of unremarkableness on the part of the game, but hey. It's a pretty short run and remains tolerable all the way through. Also, I like the way Wolverine glares at the camera during the ending, almost as if saying to the hypothetical player "Hey, did you really just spend your weekend afternoon completing a LJN game of all things? You disappoint me." A weak 'yes' vote.
