Hello everyone.
This is my first time joining the site. I have completed a TAS run on this game, but I didn't go for the fastest time.
This is my "Playaround" TAS run.
Unfortunately, since I used an English fan translation version of the Japan-only game, it is not allowed for submission to the TAS Video site.
So, here is the video. I am not sure where to put the 200KB TAS recorded file at, since the max limit is 150KB.

Welcome to the site, tom_mai78101.
You may upload any movies here (log in to the wiki first): http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/
By the way, the 150K limit applies only to submission creation on this site:
- To submit a movie file to this site for judging, you will need to compress it into a ZIP file.
- You should only use the submission creation form if you want the movie to be judged.
I suggest that you avoid submitting playarounds for judging, because it is rather difficult to get playarounds right without having community experience, especially on a game that very few here have played. I think it would be better just to play it entirely for speed (as fast as possible), or maybe to have a simple set of clear goals to aim for, if that would improve entertainment.
I'll have a look at the run but I probably won't comment on it because I don't know the game at all.
What kind of emulator did you use? In Bizhawk, 15 minute run makes around 9 KB.
I'm not sure what you're trying to do.
Hacked rom for english translation, easiest mode, and you say you're aware of not submitting that but you're trying to submit movie file?
I used FCEUX 2.2.2 Stable, I saved the file as FM3, and it generated a 228KB file. When ZIPped, it is 200KB large.
The goal is to try to use as many different kinds of moves as possible in easiest mode, and showing what would happen if one were to try and break a plot device. (i.e., not allowing the enemy to run as intended.)
Yes. The submission file limit is what confused me at first, and then after reading the guidelines, fan translation TAS isn't allowed. I just re-looked at the submission rules again. I think I know how to submit. If anything, I will hesitate a bit and wait, since I was asked not to submit playaround submissions. I thought any playaround TAS are okay before, now I realized it is really that hard to get approvals.
The file should be saved as FM2 instead, since FM3 appears to add stuff that is unnecessary. A 25-minute FM2 movie starting from power-on should be more like 15KB or so when compressed, not 200KB.
Were you able to upload your movie to userfiles?

1411kb is a normal size for a 25-minutes .fm2 file, as it is a text format file. .fm3 contains some extraneous data but has a binary format, which makes it smaller overall. However, .fm2 is much more compressible when put in a .zip (should go down to 10-15kb at that length) than .fm3, although it heavily depends on what kind of data the .fm3 file may or may not contain.

<Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits
<adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.
