Its a pirated version from the original SNES version made by the lovely Hummer Team. I made a WIP of it right here: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/16188691536575280 Link to video It completely obsoletes the current record, which is this one: Link to video Please tell me what you think! I really appreciate it.

I'm surprised at how far they were able to push the NES's limitations! The WIP is looking pretty sharp, so far. One question, though. Is Diddy able to do his cartwheel trick in this one (where he can jump mid-air after cartwheeling off a ledge)?

I don't think so. After all, this is a bootleg, so you couldn't expect to much from it.

Here is my old WIP for this: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1417104257/DKC4%20TAS.fm2 174 frames ahead after the first level. Also did some of the second one before stopping the project for now. Corner boosts in water levels sucked...

This is the best-looking NES pirate game I've ever seen! The sound and gameplay aren't too bad either. Your WIP looks pretty good so far, except it appears it could be a little better optimized. Though, if it's anything like Somari, it could just be the game that moves clunkily.

Link to video My bad, this is the actual record. Oh, BTW, Tompa's run can be optimized. Its actually faster to start rolling into enemies at the nearest pixel possible... Tompa didn't do that. (Maybe it was just a testrun...)

Different from case to case, depending on your speed cycle and how close the enemy is to you. I can improve my third roll, into the kritter at the O, but not the ones prior to that. Maybe after, haven't checked...
