I notice that between the loads of encodes being uploaded to TVC pretty much constantly, there's also the occasional obsoleted runs (
for instance). Now, I don't see this as a problem - after all, TVC is pretty much a YouTube archive for the site, and the site keeps both obsoleted and new runs in the records - but the issue is that the runs on YouTube have no notification or anything that makes it clear that the run is obsoleted. The only way to find out is to click the link to the movie on TASVideos in order to see if it is the case.
So I'd say there should be a tag in the YouTube entry's title and/or description if a run is obsoleted, noting that the run in question is obsoleted, with a link in the description to the movie that obsoletes it. I know this idea has been brought up a few times on IRC, but those stray mentions on the chat don't really amount to anything and are quickly forgotten.
Thoughts about whether to or how to implement this?
