Of all the Spyro games, why isn't THIS talked about? It was the best, why isn't there a TAS of it

just wathed it, very nice! i liked the skip at 5:15, the jump over into toasty lobby, and the treasure collecting al seemed good, with you hitting the very edge of the treasure and all ill admit im not a taser, just a dedicated spyro 1 fan so ill leave others to do the talking :D still, whats the min treasure to beat the game again?

I don't have so many time to work on this, but I still work on it when I can. However some progress in the run will be done quickly

I could have sworn someone was already working on 100% TASes for this game, or they WERE going to.

I agree, I'd watched half of this in the WIP before, and I especially enjoyed watching Dry Canyon, with all of the seemingly impossible glides, and also the use of the gliding against the wall trick before night flight. I can't find any fault with this so far, I look forward to seeing more :)

Awesome WIP, I cannot see anything that would lead to an improvement. There is however one error: You have saved 21 dragons in the WIP, not 20 :P

Why did you kill that one soldier in the peace keepers homeworld that was off path from the entrance to dry canyon if you weren't going to pick up the gem?

So unlikely that I didn't notice this mistake... I have tried to hex-edit to fix it but it didn't work, and I am not going to redo the 8 last minutes to save 5 gems...

Absolutely fantastic, I found myself thoroughly entertained throughout, although the highlight was certainly the Wizard's Peak Supercharge, without a doubt. Brilliant gem collection, excellent optimisation, with the only downside being that I was slightly disappointed to discover that you had to take damage to collect the firework gems quicker. Great work, I look forward to completion :)

I remember playing this with my friend and spending hours doing what you did in 15 minutes. Thus is the nature of aTAS. Good job, It looks great!

At 12:35, just after doing the fireworks thing, it looks like you hesitate before leaping off the ledge. What's going on there?

I must wait that the last blue gem reach the ground since Sparx can't take gems in the air.

At 1:50, could you have jumped over the pit instead of flaming the big purple gnorc. You didn't grab his gem either so i was confused by that.

If you look closely, you will see that I get his gem (the green gem became a two, but you can also count all the gems I got after the 26th dragon).

Hello all. I recently picked up this game for speedrunning (any%), and I plan to imitate the TAS route as much as possible. Having said that, I was wondering if lapogne or anyone else knowledgeable about the game's mechanics could help me out with some things. One thing I was wondering about is that when you are doing a super charge, if you jump against a wall, you can sometimes jump with a much higher trajectory, which makes some jumps possible or much easier. Two notable uses are for the jump to get back to the main area in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R70YQtShfeM#t=23m35s (I was only able to get the higher jump there once, but it let me get on the island without barely making it on). Another use for this heightened supercharge jump I've found is for Twilight Harbor. Instead of the supercharge jump to wall glide that the TAS does, I've found that you can get on the roof of that building by the supercharge ramp, and from there glide to the exit. Anyways, can someone explain what lets you do the heightened jump? I am also wondering if someone can help explain the mechanics with the flying glitch, or if there's any other technique to it besides positioning. I plan on incorporating as many of them as I can (I can do the one in artisan's decently well after practicing a little, and plan to get better at the one in gnorc cove). If there's anyway to make it easier to gain height from it, please let me know.

Jump against a wall don't really make you jump higher (you can only if you jump close to a curved wall, like I did in Twilight Harbor). The jump at 23m40s needs frame perfection since you can't reach the other side in a straight line (you need to turn left at the very end of the jump) or a better speed (you can try to start your charge attack while you are in the air, it will increase your supercharge speed a little bit). Many flying glitches requires frame perfection. I think the only ones that a non-TAS can reproduce (because you only need to not lose height) are the ones in Artisans Homeworld and Twilight Harbor.

Yeah I tried the flying glitch in cliff town and the one to night flight, and I couldn't even get close for either one. The jump I'm talking about is what I do to get to the roof in Twilight Harbor (go to 1:53:40) http://www.justin.tv/surreal_/b/294234354 Note that there isn't really any curved wall there, but I sort of use the lip at the edge as some sort of ramp. As far as I'm aware you can only do that with at least a yellow charge. White supercharge can get you up really close to the top but not quite (Maybe TAS could do it). I was able to get the heightened jump at the jump in Wizard's Peak, but only once. I did the 99 lives code and practiced that jump repeatedly, and after the 100 tries I got it about 10 times. Considering I'm new to this, I think I can practice it more and get it down consistently with time. I'll be sure to keep in mind to turn left at the end. I'm not entirely sure how well I could get the Gnorc Cove flying glitch down, but I've been able to reach the end before, so there's something.

I didn't know this glitch, but it seems that this high height is due to the edge and nothing else. I think that right before you jump, this edge gave to Spyro an abnormal incline, and so the jump send Spyro higher than it should.

I'm a little surprised this wasn't found before lol. Do you think this is only possible on certain edges? And more importantly, do you think this is something luck based, or could it be done consistently if you do the same thing over and over? As I said before, I was also able to do this higher jump for the Wizard's Peak jump, but I only got it once, so it may be a lot more precise than the one in Twilight Harbor. EDIT: After a little more practice I can sort of do the flying glitch in Gnorc Cove consistently. There's a lot more leeway than I thought there would be. I also found a way that helps you get the super high jump. At least for the ledge in Twilight Harbor, if you're turning into the lip at the end, you have a much higher chance of getting the jump. I'm thinking supercharging into things at an angle makes it more likely to give spyro that incline. I might've jumped against the wall in Wizard's Peak at an angle as well to get that one high jump.
