Submission Text Full Submission Page
It is one of the most beautiful games of Sonic and the best songs of all time but sadly the gameplay and too lazy to bring new souls and the rush to push the game has been one of the most seen. Some errors in the color palette are seen during the game.
This speedrun was not used glitchs because I found none that could be useful. :-(

Flygon: Cleaned up branch name, game name... er... basically fixed up everything to scratch.
DarkKobold: Claimed for judging.
DarkKobold: Hi, and welcome to TASVideos. This first submission of yours does not follow the rules and guidelines for the site
For reference, the Guidelines:
Don't get caught of being uneducated of the game you play. Search the Internet and find out everything that matters: tricks, routes, maps, charts, bugs and existing records.
And the Rules:
A speed-oriented movie must beat all existing records If your movie is going to beat something, be sure it beats it. If your tool-assisted movie is slower than the non-toolassisted world record of the game you play, your movie will almost certainly be rejected.
Try using the forums to post Works in progress, and get general help on your first TAS. Rejecting for not beating all known records.

That rerecord count is unbelievable. 538,970,035? I'll consider HD encoding this after I wake up in the morning... admittedly, this movie has me skeptical. Also, Ilari, I already have the dump. I am an idiot and somehow don't have the dump.

As I watch this -Woah, watch the autofire start. That's not the best choice. -Comicalflop completed the first level 14 seconds faster then you. That's normally not good. http://www.youtube.com/user/comicalflop#p/search/2/yyXRUg0wI0s -Spindashing is much faster then walking around. -1-2, you stutter alot, mostly when trying to hit a badnik. This is a sign of sloppiness. -Again in 1-2, you spindash into a wall to bounce you the other way when you easily could've just spindashed the other way. That was sloppy! -You seemingly have no idea where you're going. This is evident by the fact you repeadetly turn around, stop moving is several places, and stuff. -The 1st boss fight looked as if you didn't hit him the first frame possible. More thoughts later....

Definitely not optimised. And that saddens me because I love Sonic 3D and I wish we will have a TAS of it someday. Strong no vote.

Wouldn't it be better to do the Saturn version?

I recommend when it becomes possible, do the Sega Saturn version of this game. Music is a LOT better then the Genesis version.

This is a matter of personal taste. I prefer the Genesis music.

538,970,035? This is a record of rerecords. I vote NO because it is slow and there is a faster version on Youtube. Just in case, this will be codified in SD Oh, Master of Pigs: I tell you 2 things. The movie should be faster, or improve this YouTube or at the same time. And always a long text, and as stated here:
Describe the movie briefly here (3 to 8 lines) (it is what RSS viewers will see)

!! Game objectives

* Emulator used: Put the emulator name and version here
* List the objectives of your movie here
* Another objective
* And so on

!! Comments

Put here a longer explanation of your submission

!! Stage by stage comments

! Put the name of the first stage here

Explain the first stage here

! Put the name of the second stage here

Explain the second stage here

And so on

!! Other comments

Explain here things the audience would probably like to see
Explain also things that could be improved in your movie
You may also suggest screenshots.

This needs to be optimized, so no.

Funny how due to a file error of some sort the rerecord count is the highest ever, but yet the optimization level is fairly low.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

This does not give the perception of being anything other than a good real time run. Unfortunately, we're looking for a much higher level of precision than you're offering in this run than you've shown here. Voting no. EDIT: For those wondering about the rerecord count, I inspected the input file and have concluded that it has been clumsily edited. A .gmv normally has mostly null (0x0) bytes in the header; this .gmv apparently has had them all replaced by spaces (0x20), which often occurs when editing such a file in, for example, some text editors. Accounting for this, the real rerecord count is 1971.

Maybe Master of Pigs could enable the frame display, and look for the earliest frame possible to hit the boss.

After the first two acts, this TAS is 17 seconds behind unassisted records. I stopped watching there. I would recommend that the author make better use of the tools available. Use maps to plan your routes. Use ram search and watch to find what methods of movement are fastest. Then go back, and apply what you learn consistently. And make a new submission when you do, because this one is not nearly passable.

I changed the rerecord count of the submission entry to 1971 (note: I did not change the actual movie file)
