Looking for what I'm pretty sure is a Casper game, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
It was loosely based on the movie, and takes place in a haunted house (obviously). I'm 99% sure it had detailed pixel art for the various rooms- I remember an entrance hall with stairs and a kitchen. Casper's uncles made appearances at some points.
I know it wasn't the Interplay game- it doesn't look like what I remember...
Well, yes and no. I don't think you get my point.
Obviously when I got the computer I have now I had several to choose from. As I said, I wanted to get a better one, but had to compromise and get a poorer one. The idea is, this time I save up for the better one.
But anyway, thanks for giving me something to look for.
...No.
I'm not too familiar with the advantages of a Hackintosh over a usual Mac. If you think that it will run the resource-hogging programs better than a regular one, okay- if not, can you be more specific?
I have no idea where you get the idea that I'd want anything as a "status symbol". All I want is what to look for- for future reference- that's all. I asked you guys because I thought you would know better than any other forum I go to.
Okay, well, I kind of doubt Dolphin or Photoshop is going to be that much more resource-intensive by then. I'm not going to be updating Photoshop anyway, since it does all I want already.
I'm not really asking for any specific model. All I need is a general idea of what to look for in a computer that will run the programs I've got already, just more efficiently.
See, when I got the one I have now, it wasn't that great in the first place. I wanted a quad processor, but couldn't get one. I just want to avoid that the next time.
It'll be a long time before I can afford to get a new computer (probably years), but I figure someone could tell me what model would work for me when that happens. The one I have now is dual-processor iMac with Snow Leopard installed, and it's starting to show its age when comes to what programs I can run. Plus it's always been a tad too slow for my liking.
I don't require much, but the general idea is to get something that will run Dolphin full-screen at full speed. Or alternatively, be able to run Photoshop and a browser at the same time. Of course, I want a Mac.
Thanks in advance

I know it's kinda out of season, but I've been trying to get this game to work to no avail for over a year now, and I can't think of what to do next.
It's a Shockwave game, and it was working for a while (once I rediscovered it a while back), but then all of a sudden it always got stuck at the loading screen. I have a copy of the .dcr file even, but it won't work either.
So I don't know what's going on. Since you can't decompile Shockwave files, I can't open it up to see if it's trying to load some other file that's now missing or however this stuff works (I have no idea).
I just hate not being able to play this thing, it's a total favorite of mine!
(I have Safari 5.1.9 on OS X Snow Leopard. Not sure what version of Shockwave, but it's recent.)
Yes, but in the old run (here), after each level Boo would change color and retain it in the next one. By the time he was black, he was unbeatable. Why do the color changes not stick in this run? Or I suppose the real question is, why wasn't he white for all levels in the old one?
I remember the first time someone tried a run of this, they eventually couldn't defeat black Boo. What changed? It appears that you managed to trick the game into using regular Boo during the levels.
Funny this should be brought up. For ages the only j2me emulator I could find was Midp2Exe, and that got out of date pretty quickly. Then there was SjBoy, which is much better, but there are still some games I have that are just too large to fit in the available resolutions (and it hasn't been updated since either).
So I hope this means we might actually get a regularly updated emulator.
