ok I didn't want to create a new topic for this since I'm going to talk about smw again.. I was trying to get the Fly-through-stairs trick on video, and I've never done it before, so I just put it on 49% speed and let it record while I did many tries. I thought it would work with some of the flies I did, but it didn't. Is there any special tricks used here? Could anyone explain exactly how to do it? (This is the vid I recorded while trying) {Snes9X v1.43+ v11 (beta17:RC1)}

I think a "go to frame #"-option would be nice to have. It would load the movie (maybe generate an automatic savestate every x frames), and super fast forward (without displaying a picture or sound) to the desired frame. This would also help to check if the movie is still in sync (of course you don't use the savestates in that case).
Snes9x v11 has that when you play a demo. I think rewinding would be no problem if it used up 8mb per frame even, for me anyways. It would be totally optional of course, to those who have a big amount of ram like my 2gb but I think it should only rewind a maximum of 20 frames (more than that, get a save state :p), for example, you didn't set a save-state (or you don't want to go as far back as the other save-state) but you want to change a certain button-press just a few frames back, and don't want to replay the movie, set a state, restart the demo, jump-to, re-record, etc. It's a good idea to me though.

so let me see if I'm seeing this right. you record your normal demo, then you play it back without read only, and you frame advance to a spot and create a save state, then how do u record over that? i'll play around with it a bit, see what i can figure out. btw, if someone could make a small video tut of re-recording on smw it would help me and some others i bet. i know quite a bit about pc's so u don't have to include the small technical things but I'm just not sure exactly how to re-record and how people perfect jumps like I've seen, maybe slowdown and play if that's possible but I don't know; it probably is and I'm overthinking it, I tend to do that lol. anyways, later.

I'm not exactly sure how to do TAS' on this game, but I tried; This is what I did/what happened... 1- recorded a speedrun demo of yi2 & stopped the demo 2- copied it so it wouldn't be in use when I use tas 3- opened up the smv copy in tas-movie-editor 4- frame advanced to a point in my original smv in snes9x where i wanted to add a jump 5- switched the >Y to >B (tried >YB also) so it would be a jump 6- checked the box and clicked update, and it updated the frame info it seems 7- saved as differently named smv 8- tried to play the smv in snes9x [normal] The problem is, instead of it playing normally, it starts out on the normal world select screen, but just stays there, it counts the frames but no buttons get pressed.. any ideas? by the way, is there like a video tutorial with speech explaining how to do these? I'm probably way off, lol, but of course that's why I'm asking.
