It seems he only got 5 points out of that, while the delayed CUS/bomb that I did got 6. The real problem is where those little hoppers are, because he reaaaaally outscored me there.
I had a talk with a few Star Fox 64 players (zallard, ingx) and they gave me some extremely helpful information!
Expert mode has an additional 34 points (or 16 enemies, two of which require an extra CUS to take down, thus the extra 2 points.) This means that with this run being duplicated on expert, I'd get 379, which is 2 points ahead of nangosan's run. Problem is, I outscored him 6 pts in the first half on some mistakes (namely group lock-on CUS), but he outscored me in the second half by 4. By imitating what he did, I can retain my 6 point lead and regain four to make my total score 349 (or 383 on expert).
Back to the drawing board for Corneria.. I got my hopes up too fast on thinking I beat it. T_T

*coughs back* :)
I have my doubts on whether or not Corneria can be improved, but I think the most I can squeeze out is probably one or two points with a lot of tries, so I'm just moving onto Sector Y. As for the route, you guessed right! It's been proven to be higher-scoring for many Star Fox 64 players, so we'll be going the same way. I highly doubt Katina or Meteo can yield enough points to makeup being outscored in Sector X by the majority of Red-route planets.
Thanks! Hopefully I'll manage to keep going this time. :)
Edit: I believe Corneria has an extra 14 enemies on Expert mode, if I remember correctly, so +28 points to my total would be what I'd get on Corneria Expert mode. (373, which falls short of nangosan's video of 377 for some reason, despite me scoring off 6 of his shortcomings, namely group CUS.)
If Corneria had an extra 19 enemies as opposed to 14, then I would be okay since on comparision, I scored 6 more than him. He would have 38 extra points (19 enemies x 2) 377 - 38 = 339. My score is 345, which is 6 more, so I'd have 383 on expert... I have no idea.
I am so screwed. Where did I miss 10 points?

Okay, okay. Falco is not shot down this time.
Movie file here. It currently desyncs shortly in Sector Y, so I'll be fixing that, but Corneria is now fixed so Falco lives through it.
An encode for the Corneria level would be wonderful, if anyone is up for it. :)
Edit: I put up an encode myself on Youtube. Link.

Actually, it seems I was kind of sloppy.
There's at least one point I missed (thankfully just near the end), so I'll put up the actual finished one up soon. There isn't really anything different though, so watching that one will give you what Corneria looks like.
funnyhair: The reason why Falco needs to be shot down is because he takes a few fighters for himself in SY, which is why he needs to get shot down. :(
Edit: Added the new movie. Enjoy the 345 hit Corneria run!
Edit 2: RIP Falco. We'll see you two worlds from now!

Merry Christmas everybody!
As a gift: Corneria is now done.
After four years, I'm finally done with this blasted level...
I am aware that Falco is not dead, but I'll just killjack him like I always do. If that can't be done, I'll just go back in time and make sure he's dead in Corneria.
Thoughts/feedback greatly appreciated.

I've just watched quietly, but I figure I should at least leave a message before you leave.
I thank you so much for having made this website, and the community that came and helped make it what it is now. You've done a lot, and we're sad to see you go, but it's all up to you. Do come visit every now and then!
Wish you well on your future endeavours! ^^
Edit: *slaps forehead* ASK Thread! Argh! So, what will you do in particular, since you've made it clear it is religion-driven?

Thank you RattleMan, for the encode! That's very nice of you. =)
A thing I'd like to point out though, is that the video is different from my movie in that I actually score one more point off a robot. I'm not too sure why it didn't show up, but I think it happened before last time too, because of the wrong rom. For anyone that's following the WIP, please use the Star Fox 64 (U) [!] v1.0 one.
Just a small update, I apparently was sloppy in my last run, and I accidentally missed a point. Current lead is now +5 without the checkpoint bomb.
Kirkq: I certainly wouldn't mind doing the actual level and showing how it can be done, but proof-of-concept would work just fine too. :) I think that's what I'll do now. A full score run with no deaths, and then afterward, make "proof-of-concept" videos for each level, or just do the whole level myself. :)
Here's the new WIP, goes up to the last robots. (Yay!) WIP

From what it seems with brief testing, the 3 enemies are too far away for the CUS to reach.
The thing with the checkpoint bomb, and no one has given input except for two people, is that it doesn't look as entertaining. Sure, I get some extra points out of it, but it really breaks the flow of the whole run if I have to, in some levels, just keep crashing to die.
I think the best compromise I can do, is to follow up the run with individual levels with absolute highest point totals. But like I said, I need more input/feedback on it.
Maybe an encoder will be friendly/nice enough to put up a video download.

I'm still alive everyone!
Here's a WIP up to the checkpoint with a +4 lead.
Problem is, I thought the checkpoint bomb could be restarted via start menu, but it turns out I'll actually have to die. Because of this, I'm probably going to just do a no-death run and skip the checkpoint bomb.
Point breakdown:
First robot +2 points
Second robot +1 point
Third/fourth robot +1 point
Feedback/thoughts welcome!
P.S. My second CUS on the second robot is purposely delayed so I can hit all five fighters that spawn. Any earlier and I either get none or just four of the five.

Actually, 374 isn't the current maximum. 374 is just my 337 run + 34 expert points (sorry, I thought this was an expert run) + the bomb checkpoint (+3).
I only said that score because it is the current score you can get if you followed the thread. That said though, I've actually improved 2 extra points on it now. I think. I have to check my work. At the very least, I have an extra hit. :)

Ocarina of Rhyme is out!
For those who haven't heard of it, it's basically remixed Ocarina of Time music mashed up with rap.
Some songs aren't very good, but some like No Hook and Virginia sound pretty good together. :D
Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

In all seriousness though, Bioshock for $5 is a steal.

I was wondering Bisqwit, will you be picking anyone or are you just going to accept applicants?
Since you are the founder (and thus the longest member here), I would assume you have a few candidates of your own you would probably feel comfortable handing aspects of the site over to? Just curious of course. :)
Thanks!

Although CPL is dead for now (and so is TGS), I follow Counter-Strike, StarCraft, some Marvel vs Capcom, and CoD4*.
* Pretty much anything #gamefire decides to cover, which is mostly CoD4 now. :/ RIP TsN

So uhh.. seeing how the poll's gone, I guess I'll just state my vote here.
Meh vote.
As much as I appreciate the technical quality of this run, I found it hard to stay focused and found myself yawning at times because of the length + non-exciting moments of this run. (The boss fights were fun to watch, although some got boring fast because of the repeated crouch-stab)
A commentary of this would probably help spice it up though.. ;)

Another expert run. If Fox has those black sunglasses on, it's on expert and has more enemies than normal (which is what all of our TAS attempts have been on.)
The run I haven't produced yet, but have figured out on normal so far is a total of 341. I hit 337 with my fully completed run, but realized there's at least 4 missing extra points to be had, so 341 is the min to hit. Any extra points would be awesome.
In response to petrie911: It seems that most likely that the CO-ME-KA-SX-MA route won't yield as many points as CO-SY-AQ-ZO-MA because Aquas/Zoness can make up for the points lost in Sector Y. Unless severe testing in Meteo/Katina can prove otherwise, CO-SY-AQ-ZO-MA-A6-VE will be the official TAS high-score route.

There's also an IRC channel on freenode (#nesvideos) that would have people willing to help a newbie out. It's also much easier than having to post repeatedly. :P

You shall be missed :(
To alleviate my angst-filled period of watching this run, I demand someone make an equally entertaining commentary of this run in order to appease both crowds >:o

I tend to use a default layout and rotate all my emulators around it.
For N64:
Arrow keys = Analog Stick
s: A
d: B
a: Z
z: R
q/w/e/t: c^/v/</>
r: frame advance
For SNES:
d: Y
s: B
c: A
f: X
a: L
z: R
