https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-AifXLkLAw Here's how you'd move through most of the game optimally. Frame data (may need tweaking): Begin running forward until you reach 315 speed, JUMP and hold MAIN STICK FULL LEFT until 340 speed, then add C-STICK FULL LEFT for 10 frames, then C-STICK NEUTRAL for 1 frame, change MAIN STICK to FULL RIGHT and C-STICK to ~150 until facing your original destination point (when you were running straight forward), increase C-STICK to FULL RIGHT for 10 frames, then C-STICK neutral 1 frame, change MAIN STICK to FULL LEFT and C-STICK to ~90 until facing original destination point (when running straight forward), repeat process at "increase" but with mirrored directions. This took me from 315 base speed to around 630 within this distance. If you need to turn during travel just let the C-stick drift at the 90 / 150 speed until pointing where you want to go instead of straight ahead.

Was it not faster to kill the final boss form during the first boss phase as seen here? https://youtu.be/6ADXZx1Ects

Just listing some improvements found since the TAS was submitted, for documentation: 1. In Fire & Water's second section, you can land on the zip line and then jump to an exposed corner of the oil tower. From here, simultaneously tap up on the control stick and jump with a certain rhythm and Bond will speedily climb the tower and be able to land on one of its arms just under the padlock and cut it, ending the level. This skips waiting for the elevator to come down and saves 20 seconds. Because this skips killing many enemies, it may rob the TASer of the gold reward (I haven't tested). To prevent this, the TASer might have to make a little time sacrifice in section one to kill more enemies. https://youtu.be/ONnbqq3O28c 2. In Forbidden Depths you can get the CH-6 rocket launcher from the second forced-stop by shooting the two Malprave video monitors and use it to beat the boss quicker because its rockets travel faster than the RH-6's. https://youtu.be/k819N2B_BDU?t=192 3. Also in Forbidden Depths, you can use the shotgun or rocket launcher to flip Bloch's railcar over at the start of your 1v1 confrontation with him and it will go airborne as it goes down the first slope. With good RNG manipulation you can make him land upright behind you. Then, if you shoot his railcar again just before another downhill turn, he will be slowed down but then rubberband to catch up to you, slamming into your back at the bottom of the slope. This backboost saves about a second. No video for this at the moment. 4. In Poseidon, the player can activate the elevator and then move backwards to jam the door as it closes. This allows you to leave the elevator about 5 seconds earlier. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/273521027?t=17s

http://www.speedrun.com/run/8y8xgxdm maybe i'm missing something, but don't you just run to the biggest number of pictures possible in order to unlock courses and timesavers as soon as possible?it has commentary besides being a WR
That's how it seems, yes, but perhaps with good enough luck & some TAS-only photo accuracy levels like Tunnel and River won't have to be re-entered to acquire items like the apple and pester ball. I'd need to know if the wr route could be improved, theoretically.

I'd probably be willing to TAS this game, with some strategy guidance. I know the game very well casually, and have some basic understanding of the speedrun strats from watching WR runs/attempts.

This is the screenshot I'm getting at the recommended input count, is this correct? If not, could you double check numbers and/or possibly provide what the screenshot should be?
That's not the right image, make sure you're looking at the input frame and not VI. 113223 should be correct. If not I'm going to have to describe the frame as I do not have the emulator or ISO with me anymore: It's in that level but at the very end as bond is moving up the stairs that are connected to the submarine. As he shoots the barrel to his left the end of his revolver perfectly aligns with the top of the game window. That's the frame. EDIT: I found a screenshot I made a while back:

Game is throughly broken in a lot of places. Enjoyed it. Why do you toggle the silencer in a lot of places? Does it change the AI/RNG or is it just for time killing?
In most cases the game automatically attaches the silencer at the start of some levels to let you know stealth is recommended. It does make less noise to enemies and doesn't change damage/accuracy at all. When I switch it it's purely for variety.

I assume you need to knock that guard at 8:23 or doing so doesn't lose frames. Could you please clarify this? I'm curious.
He spotted me and was running directly to the alarm seen to the left on the wall. If an alarm is raised the mission is failed.

I'm so glad I had this view to a killer run. You've got a golden eye for entertainment and precise movement and some parts were so unexpected it scared the living daylights out of me. This version of Bond had a license to go fast, travelling through geometry like a spectre. All the praise in the world is not enough to show my appreciation for this run. I'd rather let the sky fall than see it rejected. You must see this TAS, folks. You only live twice after all. Yes vote. Something something Moonraker.

This run was incredibly good. I really enjoyed watching it throughout. There were a lot of very cool tricks, but to me the grenade usage stood out: Both using smartly placed grenades to clear out rooms fast but also using grenades to boost yourself. I especially enjoyed the horizontal grenade boosts, these were a treat to watch. Cancelling your fall damage in the boat level was really cool too. I loved how you engraved "I live!" into the wall, only to then die immediately afterwards. Safe to say I didn't expect that. The audio commentary was really entertaining as well, and helped explain a lot of the things that were going on in the TAS. From hereon now, I also demand that any 3D shooter take the time to engrave the Lenny Face in the wall somewhere. It should be the gold standard of TASes, like getting 99 lives in a Mario game. It just needs to be done. Awesome run. Definite yes vote.
Thank you for the kind words!

Well, given that FMVs are going to have copyright claims and that they're not where the gameplay is ... I would, in that situation make it myself and note that the FMV is messed up
Do you think the video might be taken down if I leave the MGM logo in?

I've finished the TAS. Originally Solarplex was going to do the encode for submission (his Linux PC didn't show any graphical glitches in the FMV's like are present when I dump frames) but he seems to have gone inactive as of a couple of months ago? If I can't reach him soon is there anyone here that would like to make a 720p 60fps encode for me to do commentary over which will then become the video I include in my submission? FMV's look like this on my PC:

I'm still hard at work on this TAS, I've completed two levels since the above WIP was posted. I want to keep the remaining levels a surprise until publication.

I hope this actually gets accepted as a separate category, as Drake's death is the ultimate goal of the game and the goal of the final level. Suggested description: This wonderful category where you crash Drake's party and beat him to death is now possible thanks to the "Invincibility Glitch" found by happyclaymore24. With Drake dead his sinister plan to take over the world and kill millions of people is thwarted, and there wasn't even a need to go into space!

Alright, firstly hello and welcome to TASVideos, Beccachu! Now about this TAS... very impressive luck manipulation from you two! This movie is very solid on the technical side. Entertainment wise, however, it does lose its charm the longer it goes on. Optimization is on point, for the most part. Despite the issue with Persian as well as animations, it doesn't hold down the run so much that it shows. Accepting for Vault.
Thank you and the site for the acceptance of this TAS, we were aiming for Vault :). As for Persian, like I stated in the description, it may not be possible to outspeed and OHKO Persian while also OHKO'ing the other two Pokemon in Giovanni's team due to the the limited rental Pokemon available with speed 144 or higher. Jolteon/Electrode certainly can't do it due to electric having no effect on ground, and Giovanni's team has good defense so Aerodactyl's Take Down would probably not be enough as it doesn't get STAB... Alakazam has weak Confusion, and Dugtrio only has slow Dig. Aerodactyl is the most viable so that should be tested at least.

Post subject: Options for using a REAL N64 transfer pak w/ emulated game?

I'm curious what my options are if I want to use a real transfer pak and real pokemon game pak with an emulator and rom of Pokemon Stadium? I am able to use my N64 controller with N64 emulators using a N64-to-gamecube controller adapter that is plugged into a gamecube-to-usb controller adapter but I have yet to be able to get Pokemon Stadium to recognize my transfer pak or the game inside of it. I have read in a few places that only an official Adaptoid N64 adapter will allow this to work, is this true?
