BitDefender works best, but if you can't buy it, there's always Microsoft Security Essentials.

I was surfing the SNES TASes today, and I found the latest Earthbound run. It had obsoleted the previous one by damn near three hours by use of a glitch. If anything, this should be a "glitched" run and be in a seperate category than the obsoleted run. Adelikat even said he accepted it as a "glitched any%" run, yet there it stands. There is another mistake in adelikat's sentence. The publication text says:
EB's Pub Text wrote:
Thanks to some collision detection bugs, including one that shows that the Skip Sandwich is a fitting name for the item in ways the developers never intended, the author is able to move around the game's areas freely, completing the bare minimum number of tasks needed to keep the final battle from locking up.
This would be classified as a glitched low% run, am I correct? Also, in the submission:
adelikat wrote:
Changing the verdict to having it obsolete the published movie. This was brought on by discussion in the forum topic as well the discussion regarding Chrono Trigger. Obsoleting the published movie keeps are options open for a future movie. We have the option of deciding to have a no glitch any%, 100%, an "all aspects" type category, or none at all.
No glitch any% is pretty much impossible because you need to collect every key item in the game to beat it without glitches. Maybe a no glitch 99%? 100%. Unless someone wants to play through 3 hours that improve 2 damn frames, this is impossible. And someone really needs to define the "all aspects" run for me.

You know, level two isn't that complex. Anyways, I start my work when Nitro gets to the level two boss. Then I take care of him/her/it, do level 3, boss. Nitro takes over for two levels (but not the level 5 boss), and I tackle the last two levels. I might do a small TAS of something if NitroGenesis doesn't hurry up! *sig* *shot*

I've gotta say, that's really impressive! Do you do created levels too, or just the levels that come with the game. I've got a few levels that are insane.

Well, arcade games are pretty much un-TASable at the moment, but there's always the NES port.

TASing frame-by-frame is kinda hard. You have to hold a button for about 5 frames for the game to even recognize the input! The controls have the grogginess of Mortal Kombat 1 (SNES.)

That was pretty good. Now I've got a route to go and something to beat. Of course, my TAS will not have continues. Thanks for digging that up! =)

Wow, I played this a lot back in the days. I'd love to see a TAS of this game.

I was going to ask about that TAS, but that's for another thread. Mods could probably lock this, unless OP does anything with it. And why would he ask here and not SMWC?

GAWD No one has posted here in forever! Anyways, Gimmick, just because of the ridiculous TAS. Here IDK what that 1 rerecord is about.

Yes, but there is not necessarily any reason to TAS this game. I've been surfing SMWC for two years, and I've never heard of this hack. I've beaten TSRP at least five times. But hey, who am I to say what and what not to TAS? If this game has quite a following that I am not aware of, then more power to them to TAS it. I still think TSRP would be a better idea.

I won't be surprised if this ends up being the TAS of the year. I don't believe there's any vote better than yes, unless adelikat hid it somewhere. This run right here explains what TASVideos is all about. Someone needs to edit this whole run into the TASVideos collage.

Well, it's a PS3 game, and the PS3 can't even emulate the PS3 yet! That was a pretty nice video, though.

If this game is going to be TASed, not much time then. Then again, I've played this game to level 73 IIRC. This might be a game without a real ending, such as Qix or Pac-Man (if it didn't have that goddamn kill-level.) A playaround might be fun to watch. If the normal KLAX player could say,"Wow, this guy is fuckin' up!" and not notice that there's a diagonal KLAX just waiting to be used, that'd be crazy!

Sigh... Why would this hack be more enjoyable to TAS (and watch) than say, TSRP?

This is the best place in the game for nuyen. I would backtrack all the time until Jake got his cyberdeck fixed (IIRC.)

I'm not sure if I'm the first one to find this glitch, but if you make a savestate at the beginning of Level 1, then beat the level, load the savestate when you're on the world map, the level will graphically glitch. Even though the level is still playable and this is not a timesaver, this might be a fun glitch to perform if one tries a playaround TAS of this game. I tested this on FCEUX 2.0.1 and 2.1.4. Both versions handled the glitch differently. Rom used was the (E) version.

I was actually playing Rampart normally on Very Hard. It's not really that hard. All they do is seriously ramp up the number of ships and ramp down rebuilding time. Given TAS capabilities, you could rebuild your fort incredibly quick to compensate for this. Also, is there any way to skip the cannons? I want to do a survival run. I got as far as the third land normally playing without using cannons.

I just checked out the publication text, and one sentence is repeated. "However, the game serves as an internal homage to much of the 'Shining' series." Someone fix that, please!
