Since I have nothing to do, I tried to improve the movies page a bit. This is just a rough design of my idea: Basically: * Multiple tabs for all types of consoles (here we just have 3, but you get he idea). Easily navigate between systems. * Search bar the top to search across all movies. Results update on each keystrokes. * Cards to show results This is built with React and Ant Design. If anyone is interested I can build further and open source it on Github.

Can I get an option to use whatever version I want to use? Like at the bottom of the page. Also, does this affect the forums too?
Yes, there would be a link to request the desktop version of the site. And no, it doesn't affect the forums.

Hey all. As many of you know, the website isn't responsive. So when you try to browse the site on mobile, you have to zoom around and it's hard to click on links or view content. After discussing with Nach, I decided to give a shot at designing a MOBILE version of the site (mobile-only, not a site redisign). This version has less content and it more oriented towards people that want a quick look at what's new and have plenty of YouTube links for easy watching. This is why a lot of content has been stripped down to keep the minimum. This would basically be a redirect from tasvideos.org to m.tasvideos.org when you browse the site on a mobile device. The project is hosted here: http://cohanc.com/tasvideos And the code is open-source: https://github.com/nahoc10/tasvideos Screenshot: Note: this is mostly a proof of concept and I'd like to have your feedback. It uses the site's RSS feed for the content. I haven't put many hours on this, so features may be missing, broken or just ugly. Bear with me please. You're also welcome to contribute on the github repo.

Idea #1: a community spotlight section (on the front page) that promotes a TAS video from YouTube or niconico that is not necessarily a speedrun. Could be a Smash TAS or a new Pokémon glitch or whatever. Videos would be picked by a vested editor from a specific forum thread and would be up there for, idk, 2 days or something. Idea #2: a more detailed "profile" section for every user which has, by default, all your submitted movies and informations. Idea #3: autocomplete search for games and players, like on speedrunslive.com Idea #4: social links for tasvideos (twitter, youtube, etc)

One request that I have that I wish for. This is mainly for the forums, but I wish for a dark theme. I wish for it as it would be a nice feature for those that use the forums at night and the only strong source of light would be coming from their monitors. The only downside that I can see from this is from the bright users, who try and hide their text, with the boarder from behind, and the dark theme users could see it.
That's possible. phpBB has tons of dark themes: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styles/board_styles/dark-17

I'd definitely help if it's done using Django. Python is amazing. Also, when we get there I'd like to work more on design/css.

Do moderators exist? Lol. It would be cool if ignorant people weren't allowed to freely spread lies and slander others for no valid reason.
Yes, but they are not as butthurt and don't ban long-time users until 2022 like some people I know. ;))))

Could I keep my moderator and editor roles? Still want to edit typos and whatnot on the site.

I'm gonna ask here again, since it appears you deleted my comment on your video/blocked my account, for whatever reason: Why does your subtitles and description link to a wikipedia page instead of tasvideos.org?

Since I'm not a Paper Mario fan (haven't watched the runs) I'll nominate byrz and CyclopsDragon for their awesome Super Monkey Ball run! This game is hella hard to optimize and they did an awesome job.

Alright, so the current tasvideos.org looks something like this: And my most recent proposition looks like this (style is similar on other pages): Few things: Hover on images now has transparency (same for navigation), Font is sans-seriff (subject to change) Dotted lines are now solid Old style is kept so users don't get lost Now has a max-width of 1600px Cleaner padding on content and more! Let me know what you think.

Also, what do you guys think of the website's font? The current font is (mainly) Georgia, sometimes with serif, sometimes without. I would propose something simple like Roboto, Open Sans or the same font used in the forums (DejaVu Sans) which are all sans-serif fonts. http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/roboto http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/open-sans http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/dejavu-sans

I assume he saved 1 frame to the elevator, but couldn't save time overall in the end.
