Sorry if it seems that way!
COVID delayed this by nearly a year so I have a lot of pent-up energy to expend now that it is finally released!
I’ve been wanting to make a TAS and participate in a much more on-topic manner for a long time, but one of the members here makes that largely impossible!
But, I’m going to be getting back to work on MHS X with all the new features for working with emulators and TAS’ing, so I hope to be back on-topic in at least that capacity soon! 😁
Soon…!

Whew! After over a year, the long wait is finally over!
I worked with Robin Beanland on this vinyl record of the Jet Force Gemini OST!

My job was to restore the old Nintendo 64 music into crisp clean modern HD. Look at that amazing cover art by Rebecca Ryan! Wow!!

You asked for it, now you’ve got it!
Due to the overwhelming response from this board, I have made the official level-sharing site for Super Mario Maker.

Enjoy!

* Action taken by Nintendo®.
I’m only talking about now. The wording in Nintendo®’s actions make it clear that it is because of the use of ROM’s.

The lawsuits are related to the use of ROM’s, not fair-use, public display, commentary, etc.
You could post the exact same videos as long as they were recorded with the real game running on real hardware. Specifically, the game cartridge itself must be a legal copy (but you could use a SupaBoy to play it for example).
I suggest a USB device that reads the playback of the emulators and uses a 3D-printed mechanism to physically hit teh buttons on a real device/controller. That would be a fun project, especially overcoming the sycnhronization issues that would otherwise make the “physical playbacks” impossible.

Post your online level codes here! Let’s play each others’ levels, give feedback, etc.!
I only have 3 so far (but only care to share 2).
L. Spiro 1-3: 6C05-0000-0011-9734
Game: New Super Mario Bros. U
This is a bit challenging, but not in an obnoxious “flood the screen with enemies and obstacles” way. You will find most deaths easy to avoid and hopefully feel motivated to try “one more time”.
L. Spiro Vanilla Dome 0.5: 30D3-0000-0011-5639
Game: New Super Mario Bros. U
I practiced making levels by remaking Vanilla Dome 1 from Super Mario World.
I hadn’t unlocked enough pieces to make it accurately, and I ran out of blocks before I could map the whole level, so I had to end at roughly half the way through (hence the name), and I also don’t know if I haven’t unlocked pipe-travel or if I just don’t know how to make them work.
I hate that things have to be unlocked over nothing but time (no way to unlock faster). But oh well, at least it helps me rest for work later today. Only 4:11 AM!

According to one of my inside sources he was really the engine behind modernizing Nintendo. He always pushed to have bigger specs in Nintendo consoles etc.
He confided in my source, “I always get voted down by the other chairs of the company (who are all grumpy old men) saying, ‘We know what our audience wants.’ What can I do?”.
My source jokingly replied, “All you can do is hire someone to assassinate them.”
I’ve been hoping all this time that the rest of the chairs at Nintendo would die off, but instead the absolute worst possible outcome happened.
This is definitely a blow to Nintendo, and I no longer look forward to the future of that company.

I guess it’s my bad.
But here in Japan movies come out no less than 6 months late (literally one of the items on the top-10 worst points of Japan in recent news—don’t give me that bullshit about translation times because I saw Casino Royale 1 week before its release in America while I was in Thailand, a story related to the girl in my profile picture) and dramas such as Breaking Bad are years late. I think Lost is just about to air on Japanese TV.
And that is assuming it will be released in Japan at all, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is one of those not slated for release in Japan ever at all, ever. Forever ever.
Ever.
I will continue to find my ways to watch, but although I might not be up to the latest episode, I am close enough to give my thoughts so far.
I started watching because of this thread.
At first I hated Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, and the hick accent of Apple Bloom annoyed the hell out of me (because I grew up with hicks in Kansas).
Pinkie Pie was that cliche crazy character and Fluttershy came off as just trying to live up to her name.
But in the end they did it all right.
Pinkie Pie was cliche at first but she had some kind of twist that I hadn’t seen before. She was actually able to make me laugh, especially when she would pop out of nowhere with a “FOREVERRRRR”. Even when I knew what to expect from her, it was done in a way I didn’t expect and made me laugh.
I knew what to expect when Fluttershy would breathe in to make a shout. I knew it would be a soft voice. But it was done right. It was soft, and with some kind of character I wouldn’t have thought to add had I done her voice. I knew what was coming every time she prepared to scream, be it falling off a cloud or cheering for Rainbow Dash, but every single time it got me because it was just done right.
Apple Bloom’s voice still annoys me. But it falls into the background now.
Speaking of voices, is that Q I hear? Why yes, it is John de Lancie from Star Trek: The Next Generation. And how awesome is it that he did the documentary on bronies?
Speaking of shout-outs, Bulk Biceps comes off to me (no research done on my part) as an homage to Ren & Stimpy. Toned down for their target audience here but looks otherwise exactly like something you would see in Ren & Stimpy.
And at the end of the day, everything is very well drawn. In admiration of their art style I have drawn some ponies at work while compiling. They are just doodles but I might scan some and post them.
My final rating: Not only something I would recommend, but already have to a coworker. He will have to find his way to watch them, but he has a little girl and it is really perfect for him.

How are we getting the latest episodes? Now that I am caught up with season 4 I need something better than http://www.dailymotion.com/.
I think some episodes have been released that have not been uploaded there and YouTube is failing me too.

That song is hilarious.
I recommend Pinkie’s Brew (Remix): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKAB91trmbg
Also from Friendship is Witchcraft but remixed by brony The Living Tombstone.
I’m listening to this several times per day lately.
I like to compliment that with a dose of this ridiculously good song also by The Living Tombstone, Good ol’ Days.
Trot with me and plant your hooves in the sand!

About 6 months ago I randomly stumbled upon a YouTube account called http://www.youtube.com/user/rinrygamegame?feature=watch
She does a variety of game-related videos, all of which are enjoyable.
She covers a large range of topics from game cartridges that can withstand the most beatings (dropped from many flights of stairs, burned, and turned into jello), translation errors, Out of This World play-throughs, useless peripherals, etc.
She just had a baby and one can only imagine growing up with a mother who is a hardcore gamer.
But best of all she always has such a positive attitude when playing any game and reviewing any game.
She also does her homework, and even I have learned a lot from her.
I definitely recommend everyone check out her channel. She’s cute, she has a soothing voice, and even though she is not amazingly skilled she is a hardcore female gamer.
Who else do you know who has made an NES working cartridge out of pop-sickle sticks?
Yes she actually made a working NES cartridge from pop-sickles. Fits inside a real NES console and actually plays the game.
Everyone here is hardcore, but no one here has made his or her own NES cartridge out of pop-sickles. Rainbow pop-sickles at that!
So give her channel a look. It should be worth your time.

Someone else barely beat you at pointing that out but thank you for noticing anyway.
It has been updated. And yes it was just eBay’s “mistake” for automatically listing that. I removed that part as well but I was unable to change the regional code. The description should make it clear.

I wrote a submission for my camera on eBay but didn’t hit the final Submit button for a few weeks.
Then I forgot about it and noticed an eBay page session timed out so I innocently logged in and it submitted the item before I knew what happened.
Oh well. I’ll just go with it.
My Canon PowerShot G9 is in great condition:

And some of you may be interested in a Japanese Nintendo Wii console with 3 bundled games (none of which require Japanese language knowledge to play):

It could be a scam but I have only donated enough for my own comfort, and I got a shirt out of it anyway, so it is not like I am really losing anything.
In fact once you go into training, the astronauts will be receiving salaries (hefty ones I believe), so at the end of the day the worst that happens is I don’t go to Mars and come back to Japan with enough for a comfortable (re)start.
Really, since the end result is exactly the same whether it is a scam or if I just get voted off the show (which is the answer to how they plan to make the money), I don’t need to make a distinction as long as I simply acknowledge that I may not (even probably won’t) be going to Mars.
But, I already had that mindset when I signed up. With over 200,000 applicants I never expected to be in the 0.53% to even make it to the 2nd round. I would describe it as being cautiously excited.
But getting to round 2 just goes to show you should always try anyway, no matter the odds.
For round 2 I will be contacted by their chief medical officer and probably asked to have some blood tests done etc. I get tested for all kinds of diseases regularly so that won’t be a problem (a lot of people will probably be eliminated here, which is why they chose so many more than they really need), and there will be an interview (I assume over Skype) with the Mars One team. I don’t think I will have any “wrong” answers so I should at least make it to round 3.
I am waiting on a biopsy for skin cancer, but in recent days the signs that I actually have anything have gone away, including the lump under the skin, which is one thing that does not go away with actual cancer. If there is anything wrong, it is probably early enough not to be malignant and can just be removed.
In any case I will just keep going for gold (or red I guess) and hope for the best!

She is signed up at the same agency as myself: http://www.f-w.co.jp/pickup/cami.html
In fact they have her on their business card so technically I keep a picture of her in my wallet, heh.
She is indeed getting decently famous here.
Damn, we all just got owned.

A while ago I asked for votes on my MARS-ONE application.
It seems to have been enough, as I have just been e-mailed by MARS-ONE telling me I was one of the lucky few selected out of over 200,000 applicants.
It is literally like winning the lottery, and with the hard part out of the way I may have good chances at actually going to Mars.
Thank you for all of your support!
See you from Mars!
Also, we need all the support we can get, so feel free to donate here:

Some may know that I act on Japanese TV and movies. Unless you know Japanese stars you probably wouldn’t know anyone I am about to list but they are pretty famous in Japan at least.
I met 宮崎あおい (Aoi Miyazaki) and Patrick Harlan (Patrick Harlan) for the filming of 蝶々さん (Miss Butterfly).
She was really nice and polite on the set, while Patrick was a total dick. He even got into a fight with one of the extras. I don’t know why they were fighting; I only started listening when I heard Patrick say, “Asshole”.
I later met and started dating 白咲姫香 (Himeka Shirosaki), a famous singer and creator of a fashion line of clothing for kids and teenagers.
This is us at my place:
And her amazing singing:

She was really obsessed with Disney princesses and kept claiming she wanted to be one. Not sure what that meant.
I found out that dating a celebrity can be…
…different?
I wasn’t allowed to use her real name (I had to use a nick name) in public when we would go out to eat etc. Sometimes she would hide her face to avoid recognition. In the end no one ever came up for her autograph or anything but that would be a major mood killer.
More recently I did a shoot for a show called Miss Pilot where I got to do scenes with most of the people here.
First-off it was amazing just to get to do acting at TOHO Studios inside one of the studios actually used for the filming of some Godzilla movies.
I mean once you have actually been on the actual set used for some Godzilla movies and paid to do some acting there, your life is basically complete.
For this show I was a pilot. For the most part I didn’t interact with the main cast, but I injured myself off-screen (cut my finger on my wings (the little wings they attach to your suit to show you are a pilot) while brushing off my suit) to which the main stars reacted in a way that just had, “Holy ouch,” written all over it.
I did a shoot with 佐野元春 (Sano Motoharu) in which we both died in an airplane explosion in a TV drama called SPEC ~零~.
The co-director remembered me and hired me back for the filming of the movie version (just released in theaters 2 months ago) called SPEC~結~漸ノ篇. I died again, this time with 遠藤憲一 (Endo Kenichi).
He played the leader of China (he speaks Chinese and English fluently) and I played the leader of America, and, true to the Japanese stereotype of America, I was very aggressive, called some Japanese a “yellow monkey”, and he turned around and killed all the world leaders, including Endo. My bad?
He was really nice and humble and he laughed at a lot of my jokes.
Most recently we just finished filming a movie called 万能鑑定士Q ―モナ・リザの瞳― (Blah blah blah Q Mona Lisa Blah Blah) where I got to meet the woman of my dreams, 初音映莉子 (Eriko Hatsune).
I have never been so infatuated with a celebrity before. Watching how she behaved while the cameras were off—she’s weird but in a really adorable way. Child-like but not childish.
We talked a lot and I got the feeling she was a little bit into me too. She laughed at everything I said (no, not mockingly) and she was super nice. When her co-star Louis Garrel did some freak dance in which he lost his balance and nearly fell into me, and I reacted by jumping back and saying, “Whoa there,” in his embarrassment he tried to save face by saying, “Mah, he is American,” to which she reacted with a very stern, “I do not approve of this comment,” face.
I spent a lot of time staring at her and she spent a lot of time staring back, and not in an uncomfortable way. At one point we were so strongly locked in gazes she didn’t notice the director calling her name until the 4th time.
I definitely want to meet her again and if the chance presents itself I am definitely going to ask her out.

I didn't verify it myself but someone on another forum said there are over 100,000 applicants.
So being near #4,000 somewhat sucks, but it's actually a bit decent.
Still all the votes help.

[EDIT]
Oh, I think you are looking at the rating, not ranking.
Rating is current 3.835. Out of 5, it's also just "a bit decent".
