I'd like to take a shot on it sometime in the future, because the scroll glitch can be abused even more.

Time to revive the topic nearly 7 years later! Yesterday was the 17th anniversary of the published run of this game (SMS version), but years have passed and why this game wasn't updated yet? Well... I have only one idea that I can't exactly confirm: the lag in this game is painful to optimize, and the game starts showing it just at the first zone. Some years ago, The8bitbeast and EZGames69 started the project working on the first two zones, several months later I decided to help them managing to reduce more lag and also working on two more zones, but I ended putting this game on hold because other projects. Here's the movie file: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638693521322570251 Encode video: Link to video Over 40 seconds faster than the published run, and the project will be revived sometime in the future (I'd like to still continue the project).

Wow thanks for the commentary in the encode video. The game has a bunch of impressive stuff I wouldn't notice easily, and the work and optimization are excellent! Yes vote.

It's over! It's finally over!!! After 5 years since the first WIP you've posted on youtube, here comes not only a new TAS but the improvement is very huge this time! Lots of new finds and discoveries I didn't expect to see in this run. Excellent job :) Yes vote and congrats for the sub-1:20.

Excellent work HappyLee! I'm surprised with this category, and the Nova Armor usage is superb. Great music sync during that elevator skip section too :) Yes vote.

This is a very interesting category, and despite how this game lags a lot, this TAS looks very optimized and entertaining for me. Also the pause clip is excellent, as well as the other glitches implemented in this run! Yes vote.

Although being of the authors of the any% run by only improving a small section of the area 12, I'm glad to see a new TAS of this game :) The optimizations looks very polished and you even found improvements to that last area too (the second barrier skip looks much better now). Great job and yes vote!

I'm grateful for this new run. A good upgrade from LordTom's run. I found that this run improves some of the best known times listed here. However, it seems to also be falling short of the best known time in a few levels. It seems those were all levels that snc76976 had the best time in but his videos are not available anymore... I guess you were confronted by a "there is a best known time but no video of it" dilemma... Unless there is a reason for this, such as a Japanese-version exclusive mechanic. Not sure what MarbleousDave meant by "bug related to the time bonus upon the end of the level" in the Japanese version, in the linked topic... Anyway, I noted down which levels seem to be improvable just by checking the "Ingame time left" after the level.
Mayhem Level 06 - One way or another 2:15 reached, 2:19 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 07 - Poles apart 4:16 reached, 4:17 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 12 - The Other Side 2:11 reached, 2:20 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 14 - Pea Soup 4:00 reached, 4:01 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 15 - The Fast Food Kitchen... 1:01 reached, 1:09 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 21 - With a twist of Lemming please 3:17 reached, 3:19 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 22 - A BeastII of a level 3:17 reached, 3:27 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 25 - Have a nice day! 4:02 reached, 4:03 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 26 - The Street Mines of Kessel 6:14 reached, 6:16 possible (Time left) Mayhem Level 30 - Rendezvous at the Mountain 6:21 reached, 6:35 possible (Time left)
I think panning the camera away from the action hurts the entertainment value for this speedrun. In my opinion, only the ingame-time left after each level should matter for judging speedruns in this game. Not the real time. EDIT: Looks like I have videos of Lemmings TAS backed up. But only very few old ones: Level 6 with 2:16 remaining and Level 7 with 4:17 remaining. Let me know if you want them.
I have several videos of that author I've recovered recently from my old PC. I'll upload them and send to you guys ;)

The early elevator strategy is clever. Too bad Maria and Annette don't appear in this run, but while the Maria one doesn't seem to affect frames, I noticed the latter one does save time. Excellent work once again! Yes vote.

Finally someone did a new TAS of this game! I saw your work on Genesis version, but I forgot to comment before. You did a really great job on both versions, considering how laborious would be for a big project, several new glitches were discovered since the old TAS publication and everything would result on a very big timesaver at the end of the game. Too bad this game lags too much if many lemmings are on screen, but at least you can see them in the "radar" ;) Yes vote!

I watched the WIP again, and I noticed something: before climbing the second-to-last ladder on Burst Man stage, wouldn't be faster using another Rush Coil or the Freeze weapon usage (after collecting one of R-U-S-H letters) was for lag reduction? Meanwhile, great job! Looking forward for the new project :)
