I did a superslide everywhere I could. I did 1 in DMT, 1 at the Town, 2 in the Field (1 for skipping owl) and 3 in the Caslte area. This run is getting hopeless again.
Can you make a video of this, it would be fun to watch and maybe we can find some mistakes. Also, what about the previous areas where day time was ticking away, are we sure they were all optimized too? If you cannot make it before the guards get there, what would be the optimal route to use starting from the beggining?

Terrible, the game thinks it's night, yet the wolve hasn't howled. I just hope it's not because we have 2 spiritual stones that we can't meet Zelda... GB said he needs to arrive 3 seconds earlier. I doubt 3 seconds can be improved. Time does not move in the dungeons, nor when you talk to owls (time does fly when the owl flys away, though).

areas before DMT are irrelevant, as time is set to a certain value after exiting DC.

I don't know who, but someone posted that you can still talk to her with all three stones.

Guano, where are you up to currently? I ask this because I have no experience with N64 emulated save states and they probably wouldn't run on my terrible computer.

That is incorrect. If you get all 3 spiritual stones, the Ganondorf cutscene will play, and Zelda will through her Ocarina. Zelda will not be at her castle after the Ganondorf cutscene. You haven't learned the Lullabye, so basically you are stuck, if I understand everything correctly.

She will be there, but the two guards will block you regardless of the time of day. If you can find a way to glitch past them, there will be no guards beyond them and you won't need to play hide-and-seek.

As expected, Guanobowl... your file is corrupt. Time for some nice hex editing (unlikely) or re-record it starting from the owl meeting.

What are you talking about? The file he just uploaded played just fine for me. He got into the guard area, but they were still there. I think that the wolf howl sound just didnt play because he was crawling into the area when it should have. If he could skip the other Owl's text, then i think he could make it in in time. Someone should be trying that.

Did you play it from the beggining? That's REEALY WEIRD! Plus, like someone said earlier, the time stops during the owl's explanations. About the corruption, I think it's like Nitsuja thought... must be a missing byte...

BUT, TIME PASSES WHILE THE OWL IS FLYING AWAY AND YOU CAN'T MOVE.

oh, man... what would you do without me... >=D I found a way to skip that damned owl. Probably it's faster than waiting for him to fly away... Check it out: http://www.bestsharing.com/files/ms001135757/skipping%20the%20owl.rar.html

Different owl. The one outside the castle, methinks, rather than the one outside Kakariko. Cool trick, but that seems slower than just letting the owl fly away. Could be wrong on that, though...

Pirate_sephiroth's trick looks like it is faster. I dunno if it's all of 3 seconds faster though :/ Also I don't know why but I can only play up to dodongo's cavern reliably. So could one of you please do one of the following: a) make decent encode of the current progress after dodongo cavern, or b) post a savestate after dodongo's boss is beaten so I can continue making wip videos

Here's a tip... Don't skip the owl dialogue... if you superslide through it, you should probably be able to slide while you talk to him... which means you could move closer to the castle but w/out time passing.

I think the owl's dialogue will stop your movement... the superslide seems to be interrupted by other things such as falling off ledges and transition scenes to another area, so I don't think the owl's dialogue will let him pass since it also interrupts any walking/rolling you were doing before hand. It'd be funny to see though

When I tested it the other day I was able to bypass the owl conversation with a superslide.

ya, I wasn't sure, but it lets you do it through bluw warps and FMVs so who knows. Also, what was that trick because it didnt play properly for me (my emu isn't set up the same) and I really don't want to fix it up just to play a 2 second clip. Thanks. Edit: NM thanks yautja. Alternation between deku and slingshot... good stuff.

Hey, Guanobowl... I don't know how can someone go past that first owl without a savestate! Check out what appears in Zefiris editor: Besides that, here's the faster way to get past that owl before the castle. (I had this idea a while after I posted the previous one... but I was too somnolent, and I thought you'd figure that by yourselves...) That strategy might be helpful in other parts too, to skip undesired pop-ups. (probably, you'll have to return from that point anyway, Guanobowl...because this trick works in the first owl too...) http://www.bestsharing.com/files/ms001136429/I%27m%20not%20feelin%20sleepy%20tonight.zip.html To Acryte, and others who can't view the .m64, http://www.bestsharing.com/files/ms001136449/skip_NEW.avi.html explanation It's pretty simple. Wihle you're running (right before the owl talk starts), pull out the slingshot and as soon as you can take out the deku stick (never stop running), now you try to wait (while running) the longer you can before pulling the slingshot again... etc... It's just slingshot, deku stick, run, slingshot, deku stick, run... If done properly, it's not possible to see the slingshot animation.. all you can see is the stick. note: you can use slingshot and sword instead, but I think its slower, because he'll try to slash. That would be the available option for adult Link.
