Ahh maybe that's why i couldn't aim.. maybe. I was trying to move AND aim at max speed. Also using a controller = not good for this game.
nfq, i have all the levels beaten so maybe that's why it would play.
Some bad news. The current movie file desyncs with 2 players enabled from the start. Unless there is a way to "plug in a second controller" at some point during the movie, IE start of facility, I'll be doing the dam over again.
Two mine boosts + gas would not be a living Bond. He already used two in the last wip and 3 is maximum anyway. Plus he has to get the right frame to get the good Doak so even more timing issues after shooting them, if you can that is.
3 isn't maximum... you have lots of time to shoot the tanks since you have to listen to trevelyan, you only have to use one mine or none. so you could use 4 or 5 mines for boosting.
Where else could he actually get an effective boost?
-hallway with 3 guards
-hallway before glass rooms
-hallway after good doak
-4th option is to not shoot the first guard but place a mine there to use as a boost later.
It has to be a long enough hallway otherwise time will be lost to actually place it correctly.
otherwise.. i don't see how it is possible to get 5 boosts without losing time.

the door to the tank room.. place it on there and find a way to still warp it.. then right after warping detonate it.. it gives you a boost downstairs, and another one downstairs.there are 2 straight stretches near doak, of which only one is used for a boost in the normal runs. so if you do the other plus the door I mentioned, you've used all 5. you'd just need to shoot all tanks in time then.
Rising Tempest will have to see what works since this really hasn't been done before but if it does 52ish could be possible with Trevelyan close to the stairs.
You can aim up and down, simply by pressing up or down on the second controller, but the range is very limited in the first intro. Auto aim also works, but in 00A it doesn't aim so much.

Hmm, I think the aim is determined by something else..., maybe the time that you press A twice in the second controller to activate the glitch. In the facility, sometimes I can shoot that soldier in the first corridor, and sometimes I can't.
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself.
It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the

functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success."

So is the plan now to use controller setting 2.3 (domino) the whole time?
Other than depot it may be able to save time on bunker1 by alerting the key guard having him open the first two doors that are behind you when you start. Also you can open the first door on caverns.
In all I don't think it could save more than 5 seconds.

I have good news.
You guys might remember me whining about my computer dying about 2 months ago. Well, I upgraded all the broken crap and repaired it recently (I got moneys now). In short, Goldeneye runs full speed on my computer now, and I am actually, looking forward to working on it again! I will try to have the first five levels done by when I go on vacation for a week (The 24th.)
That's where you're wrong.
I can hit the furthest camera on surface 2. saving who knows how much damn time. Piss off guards in the silo to get some doors open earlier... and in the frigate (I think. can't say for sure offhand if there are cinemas with guards, but I do remember them). The already mentioned depot and bunker 1. Shooting a drone gun on jungle (can't remember if it's actually out of the way or not, but i'll be able to take a tighter line if I don't have to throw a mine at it). Drone gun shooting, and opening of the elevator in control. Elevator in caverns... can't remember the cinemas so not sure if I'll get to shoot mainframes or anything. Control, I will test if Trev can take damage during the cinema... this could save a lot of effort on my behalf if I don't end up needing the grenade.
Not to mention all the other levels where I can just get rid of guards that would otherwise cause me grief.
Also, isn't there a cinema in the keycard hut on surface one? If so, and I could lure that guy out...
Good to hear your working on this again.
When you say control i assume you mean Cradle and no, Trev cant take damage. He can only take damage while or after he's stopped.
And i'm quite sure there is no cinema inside keycard hut on S1?
The furthest camera thing on S2 is quite interresting, I had no idea about that, that would save MAJOR time since you can shoot the 2nd camera through the wall(not sure how far away you can do this but i assume its possible from the comms tower).
Your sure you can hit that camera on S2? I heard it wasn't possibe cause it wasn't in the middle verticle line.
Hearing about the grenade on control (when you meant cradle) reminded me this strat that's been brought up before. Don't get the remote mines and instead get 6 grenades from gaurds.
If you really can shoot the camera on S2 then I think you could follow a strat very similar to the secret agent (and agent) one. You'd need to get 2 grenades from the guards in the beginning, left strafe on the same route in agent and SA, shoot the first camera, shoot the camera behind the hut well before coms building, prime first grenade and throw a high lob to get the camera in the coms building, prime second grenade as soon as you throw first, throw grenade like the agent mine toss. finish. Could prolly get close to the agent record.

Come on Rising tempest, I want to see more videos please! That was some really great stuff you did. This game is so intresting when TAS because it's speedruns are more exhaustive than any other game. So so much is known about the game and people have already gotten such great times in real time, to see them actually get beaten is really cool.
The things you could do on dark LTK would be really amazing to see.
