That's for assuring the quality of the movie. I mean, to show that neither cheats were used nor the avi was edited.
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

Not to mention that the input file is a lot smaller and from many aspects easier to use.

So are you going for a 100% speedrun then?

So you're aiming for a 100% (or was it 105%) run? Interesting. You may need to make it "Fastest possible 100%" (or 105%) to have a chance at getting accepted though. Either way, good luck.

if you mean Speedrun = Time Attack then i say: NO I^ll try to play the game 105% but 100% is good too. How long i need for each level is not very important for me. But sure, i'm not going tro taking to long for each level. Here some durations of my first 3 Levels: LV1: 2:11 LV2: 2:56 LV3: 2:34 As you can see i'm trying to keep each level for World 1 under 3 minutes, exept there is a long level, then i'm making it not longer than 4 mins. LV 3 is now available for DL^^

So, you just aim for 105% completion but you don't do it fast? I think it won't be accepted here... And please use Microstorage to upload your files because rapidshare is kinda crappy.

If you're doing this as a non-assisted speedrun, this should probably be moved to the Speedrun section.

Tiby, your runs don't belong on these forums. They are un-assisted and SDA is the right forum for this kind of runs.

Even that, it's done on a ROM. I don't think it'll even be accepted on SDA.

One question: Will we see a tool assisted 105 % run or not?

Another question: what's the point of these videos if not to just show the somewhat quick 105% walkthrough? If it's neither a speedrun nor a TAS, what do we need it for here? I'm a bit confused.

I have in mind try a full-percent of DKC3 game, but before start i need an opinion of the vieweers. I do a 104% or a 105%? 104% is easy to do. I just need to not touch any checkpoint barrel. 105% is the full percentega of the game, but to acomplish that i need to don't use any DK barrel, what says that i never can lose a monkey. This will slow the TAS because i can't use the Take Damage to save time, but is the real full-percentage of the game. -=-=-=-=-=- And i need to ask one thing too. To make full percentage, i need to finish the game one time and reload from the saved game. Can i reset the game after defeat K. Roll to minimize the lenght of the video, or i need to wait the full ending to start again? (I Ask because i didn't know if Snes9x+9 allow reset in the middle of the movie) I'll post a WIP soon. I just want to know that to plan better the route i can made.
Not more working on: DKC3 105% < Needs modified Nitsuja Snes9x+9, with reset recording.

You should definitely do 105%, besides aren't mokey's restored during boss battles or something? I have gotten 105% and all you have to do is enter that tuffstuff or whatever code... By the way, please take some time before you begin the run and try to skip the beginning animation in the game. I have personally done it TWICE on the console and I believe it was by pressing "start" at just the right frame before that music box thing started spinning. This would save some nice time right off the bat. Goodluck!

As far as I know, you will get your partner back at the start of each level. At least that's what the SDA-Text says. So you should definitely (<- why do I always have to look up how to write this damn word?) do a 105%-run!
