Hi everyone. I started working on this TAS for Ratatouille about two months ago. It's been going well, but I found a few places where I could save time (the first cooking game and Kitchen 1), and fixing up those places just desyncs the TAS. Here's a video of my current WIP. I may just start from scratch. The next cooking game is also giving me tons of trouble too, mostly because I don't actually know how to get the minimum required rank without brute-forcing everything. Walgrey has made significant progress since 2022, with this video representing current progress: Link to video (All user files up to this point: "(6/20)" (12/11/2023), "Redoing (2/17)" (12/11/2023), "WIP (3/20)" (5/5/2024), "WIP (6/20)" (1/13/2025), "WIP (6/20) -37f" (1/14/2025)) However, Walgrey hit a slight roadblock recently in understanding the cooking minigame well enough to efficiently solve it. I happened to see her post mentioning this, and did my own research into it. After two major passes and a good bit of tinkering later, I can now present my own current movie: "Cook Ch. 2 draft" (1/25/2025). The basic rundown for how cooking works is that you have to reach a certain points total per star (100pts per star so far), garnishing gives 5 points per garnish, and dishes have a base score, but lose 25 points when undercooked or overcooked (in ch. 1, the base score is 40; in ch. 2, it's 25). Also, the max score for a dish seems to be 50pts. My current route for ch. 2 is 3 dishes cooked perfectly (25pts base + 5pts*5 garnishes each), 1 dish undercooked (0pts base + 5pts*10 garnishes), to just barely make 200pts for the two stars ch. 2 requires. No new video yet because I'm not quite done optimizing; the remaining potential improvement is to reduce ingredient counts through RNG manipulation. That will likely require redoing the first cooking minigame as well, and I hope to have that done in the next few weeks.
