In this game, because of the unlock all levels code, there is no goal. only become silly.
Game objectives
- Emulator used: bizzy wizzy 2.7
- Be silly
- Be a lil unhinged
- And so on
This idea came to me one day when i had the itch to TAS but had nothing i wanted to TAS. So this TAS does the stuff ive always wanted to do.
Artisans
What a start, we do a big wallglide around the homeworld and enter through the back of town square portal
Town square
The bulls in this level send you so high its silly, so after getting a proxy off an enemy I also got the bull to hit me up which allowed me to get onto the level scenery. Whats wacky is that I glide into the background which in this level turns out to be actually solid. WHY?? Anyway i just run around on it its kinda cool ig.
Toasty
I use the dog to clip through a seam in the ground and then use the dog AGAIN to proxy up and glide to the end.
Stone hill
The wallglide at the start is insane. The sheep push is kinda funny and i managed to get it to proxy me a little bit with another sheep.
Dark hollow
The proxies in here are ones i do RTA frequently when im bored. I follow the route i try and do as well but i never usually get that far. Also a couple squeeze proxies between the enemies and the wall.
Haunted towers
VRAM CORRUPTION IN SPYRO 1!!!!! Its super cool to have pulled this off and it has super sick visuals. It happens there because its a crossover of multiple loading zones, causing the game to almost crash (it took hours to get the camera right to make it not crash) and go crazy mode. While the visuals are crazy i do a bunch of proxies and stuff.
Dark passage
a LOT of wallglides to see where i could go in the level
Lofty castle
This is the first instance of supercharge which i abuse a lot. If you get a really specific angle on the analog stick you can get sharp turns which look cRAZY. Also we bonk into the wall with supercharge then get shot by an arrow which converts the stored supercharge bonk momentum into WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Exiting lofty castle
dude you gotta watch the tas its like tony hawk
Jacques
some of the enemies run at you rlly fast and if you glide into them at the right time you go super high which i show off here
The camera going into this level looks weird because of how the portals work in this homeworld. If you roll into/touch the portal at a weird camera angle, spyro will keep gliding and the level wont actually start loading until the camera touches the portal. With some angles you can actually get the camera to never touch the portal and you just die. AS FOR METALHEAD, just a bonkers amount of proxies.
Tree tops
RED SUPERCHARGE IS REAL!!!! If you start the supercharge from high enough youll actually get red speed supercharge. I achieved this from getting a scenery proxy to get me high up before charging down onto the ramp
Misty bog
If you charge and jump at the right angle on the VERY EDGE of the goop, you actually jump off it. Its pixel perfect afaik and xandotoaster (a community legend) has done a few in a row RTA.
Terrace village
the fireworks stay solid when you launch them and you can proxy off them kinda high. i also get a really high "biscuit blast" off the enemy at the end which got me so high i could glide into the end vortex.
Alpine ridge
the raising platforms allow you to get flops off them which i do when i roll off one of them, also if you charge into them the frame they start going up you clip into them
High caves
This level was practice for an any% tas... coming soon... :)
Wizard peak
This level didnt have that much, i kinda rushed through it ngl
Blowhard
At the start i go silly and get a damage boost into some scenery proxies but halfway through i decided to do more any% practice (i dont even remember tassing this i was so tired)
Dry canyon
Off the bat i get a trick called... am i allowed to swear on this site??... ok its called Mickeys dick smasher or MDS for short. I get a max height one and then dick around with the rest of the level.
Cliff town
BEfore i talk about the actual level, theres a lot of sillyness happening in the homeworld before entering. Turns out you can wallglide super super far along the coast and i get a shot of the level from super far away. also did a couple damage boosts and proxies yadda yadda blah bvvlafuiersdf
in cliff town doe i do a mama squeeze proxy into a weird bird proxy. turns out the bird isnt solid until it lands so i exploit that and go over the invisible barrier and explore the rooftop.
Shemp
Instead of doing the shemp proxy that the vortex run does off the start, i manipped the enemies later on to do the trick. idk why. because i could i guess. And also after flaming shemp once, i TASed the old vortex strat out which is wallgliding then rolling up the wall. I think its cool to archive the old tricks, and other misc stuff. Its actually a big reason why ive been making these so long, im trying to fit in as much stuff as possible so these old unknown things get saved forever, i love doing it a lot. its why ive played these games for so long.
Ice cavern
i fell off and just did a wallglide and finished the level.
Gnorc cove
i did a funny barrel proxy into another one which is cool and awesome
Twilight harbour
This level is super fun, i start it off with a weird proxy off the first fella and then i wallglide around to another one. Later on i proxy off the crank on the bridge which lets me supercharge super fast into the rats and go BOINGGG
Gnasty Gnorc
i get pushed big time, and on top of that i get a trick called credit skip where we proxy off of gnasty gnorc and then flame him from under the map and die. the game recognizes we kill gnasty but we skip the cutscene that plays.
watch the funny video rn
the tas is perfect and there are 0 improvements to be made
ThunderAxe31: Pardon me if most of the judgement note is gonna be copy-pasted from the other
submission, but the situation is in fact that much similar.
As I mentioned in the submission thread, being silly in the way you play is the literal definition of playaround. And we allow playaround movies for publication, as well as other forms of freeplay, given they meet some requirements.
Until now, we had a hard rule of requiring a playaround movie to actually beat the game and display the ending sequence in its entirely, just like for fastest completion goals. Since I figured out that this was a very old rule and it didn't seem to completely make sense to me, I brought it up to the rest of the judge team and we agreed that we want to give more freedom of choice for freerun goals. For this reason, we now have changed the relative
rule and we now allow the authors to decide how to end their movie, as long as it makes sense as a stylistic choice.
In this case, the player skips the ending sequence and the credits roll by intentionally dying after delivering the final blow to the final boss, similarly to how it would be done in the 100% branch. This isn't what we'd want to a fastest completion movie, but for this movie it adds a bit of a twist, which is in line with the spirit of the goal of fooling around in as many way as possible. For the rest, the movie stays coherent to its goal through the whole run, and it's overall more than enough entertaining for the freeruns requirement. As such, accepting as a new branch for Alternative!
Regarding the branch label, I'll leave the decision to the publisher team. I'll just note that that this movie achieves both fooling around and showcasing glitches, so it's probably gonna be something along these lines.
ThunderAxe31: File replaced with a spiked version that removes 19761 blank frames at the end.
