if you aren't going to do a all-levels-run, I think you should get all clouds you can from Hammer Bros'. That's because I'm quite sure that a Hammer Bro level is much shorter than some normal level which could be skipped with the cloud.

anyway, i think he should kill all hammer bros. otherwise it wouldn't feel like 100% stages beaten. i think you could choose to beat all the levels where you can die by normal means (genisto showed you can die on the mushroom house, but thats not normal, if the stages has deadly hazards, then it's normal).
If he does kill all the Hammer Bros. then it would be better if he left them as Hammer Bros. instead of "transforming" them into the White Coin Ship, because it would take longer to get through the ship than the Hammer Bros. levels.

Currently working on:
Nothing at the moment.
it's ok to do all the levels like its saying in the topic title, but..
auto-scrolling levels = pointless, boringness, skippleaseness ;_;
(ok, i'll stop with this ;-; )

think about it.. whats the point in doing a 100%?! to show how fast u can make it to the end in each level? but auto-scrolling levels there's almost nothing to do to it.. i.i

Just because a level isn't entertaining doesn't mean it should be left out of a 100% run. You might as well extend that concept and do a non-warp run if you are going to make the auto-scrolling exception.
<Swordless> Go hug a tree, you vegetarian (I bet you really are one)
Well, for 100% the autoscrollers are required, so the best thing to do is make them as interesting as possible. They make up a large part of the minimal run and that's one of the most fun parts to watch, I thought.
(I wonder if it would work to beat an autoscroller without pressing any buttons except the jump button perfectly timed, for a change of pace, until the end of course. It would preferably be an autoscroller that doesn't at first glance look like it's possible to beat that way.)
Vatchern: Could you switch to the new version of FCEU? It fixed 2 desync bugs that happen in this game, so I think you'll run into trouble later on if you don't.
I think somebody should look into this more. It's actually a pretty neat bug that will drastically change the gameplay in a way that's fun to watch (i.e. since you don't have to gain a full P meter, you're no longer limited to staying on the ground as much as possible, and there are more options for movement). Unfortunately the SNES version has much longer startup time and transitions between levels, but the actual levels will each be considerably faster (like 2 to 10 seconds faster per level except for autoscrollers or 'leftscrollers').
EDIT: So much for that idea, I guess. Carry on, I still want to see this 100% or warpless run done... the current one really needs improving.
Well, I submitted a run of it. But, I don't know. I can see the point that it seems like way too convenient a bug, it's something that would obviously be in use constantly instead of only in certain situations, and it doesn't break the game as much as in something like Zelda II so it's really not that drastically different anyway. Plus, the SNES version has enough extra delays to cancel out the time gained, so the resulting time won't be that impressive either.
