This is a romhack i beat with luigi

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Removed blank input at the end.

feos: Hello BlueMania X and welcome to TASVideos!
Unfortunately, there are 2 issues with your submission.
Number one is optimization. As others mentioned in the thread and I demonstrated in my test movie, this run is missing basic optimization techniques like jumping off platforms to gain higher downward velocity and arrive to the bottom sooner. In Super Mario Bros it's also faster to accelerate by jumping and turning on specific frames. We require speed oriented movies to be technically good, which means it should not be easily improvable by large amounts of time, and all known techniques should be used. To learn more about TASing techniques and all the other relevant aspects, check out our TASing Guide!
The second problem is the category choice. "Glitchless" can't go to the Standard class unless Major Skip Glitch is the only glitch in the game. Sometimes a movie in the Standard class may contain speed/entertainment tradeoffs, but avoiding all glitches does not necessarily make the movie more entertaining, however it becomes significantly slower. It's too different from the fastest completion goal, but not in a good way, as the votes in the submission thread show. Which is why this run can't go to Moons either.
I have to reject this submission. Better luck next time!

I have a few pretty basic comments about this submission: - This hack doesn’t really offer any entertainment comparable to any SMB publication on the site, nor most rejected publications either - This movie is full of constant suboptimal movement and major visible improvements, as it seems you opted for just RTA movement (You could have used fast accelerations and flagpole glitch, and maybe even wall clips to skip killing enemies and the pipe entry cutscenes?) - By the looks of your submission comments, it doesn’t look like you understand the formality of this site, and what it means to submit a TAS for publication Voting no

Thanks for posting this, HappyLee. Your TAS is -much- more in line with what I was expecting for this game, and much more entertaining. Indeed, it had a bunch of very cool tricks I didn't even expect. BlueMania X, take that run as inspiration for what you should be doing in a TAS. Don't hesitate if you don't need to. Use frame advance to make the timing as precise as possible. When you need to fall down somewhere, jump from as high as you can so you have the most downward velocity. When needing to turn around, turn around early so you don't spend more time going in the wrong direction than you need to. Use all available tricks. Plan out your strategies for approaching obstacles to solve them as fast as possible. As it is, I have to vote no. Sorry.

Try to not rushed the TAS and submit without Optimization.

Would you like to submit this? We relaxed rules on ROM hacks dramatically, so this would be acceptable.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

This submission really looks like real-time human play. I never TASed SMB, and I only looked up how you should accelerate at the start of the game, and here's what I came up with: User movie #637911865548543174 - 00:24.48 seconds faster than this submission. Link to video Since I don't know how to do any glitches, that test run is also "glitchless" apparently, so should be a good indication of what a movie of that category needs to look like (at the very least) to be of acceptable technical quality. Still easily beatable by anyone aware of SMB TASing. It may look like I TASed the whole thing just to reject this run harder, but sorry this game is so much fun, I couldn't stop, lol. More importantly, "glitchless" is a Moons only category so it has to be entertaining and different enough from Fastest Completion. I think that this category is simply not good enough for Moons, since any% looks much cooler.

Oh thanks for telling me. In that case, I'll update it and submit it.
