About the run

I played a mini-game game mode, named "Survival". It's about not dying.

The controversial part

Is the ending point. This game mode doesn't have stages or an increasing difficulty, so the only ending point available would be the game over... which just doesn't happen. I was able to escape every killscreen and achieve an... alivescreen. That is, a situation where the player doesn't need to provide any more input in order to avoid dying, while the score points will still keep growing until maximum.
In cases like these, you would demand the player to commit suicide in order to manually cause a game over and thus displaying the final score on screen, however... That would defeat the purpose of the TASing record. What makes this game mode TASable is the fact that you can truncate the inputs as soon as you manage to achieve a situation from which the score is guaranteed to reach its maximum. On the other hand, committing suicide after reaching the maximum score would result in having a movie of fixed length, regardless of how fast you reached the "alivescreen".

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: This one is actually easy. The rule says
If there's no clear ending, end after all unique content (enemies, level layouts, game mechanics, etc.) is exhausted.
Alternately, after completing all unique content, you may end when the in-game difficulty (enemy speed, AI, etc.) stops increasing.
Surviving the longest is the official goal of this mode, and jumping on the barge removes any further challenge from it, enabling you to survive indefinitely. Exhausting the challenge is the spirit of the rule for games without an ending. I find this acceptable to Standard. However the score is irrelevant here, and there's no point in encoding how the times maxes out.

This is pretty funny for an April Fools joke, lmao. The police cars just hurtling overhead as their sirens blare is some amazing physical comedy. Also, what was up with the physics glitch at 30:40? How did all of that happen without making any input? Was it part of the route or just an amusing coincidence? LOL

Happens because of the weird terrain geometry on which the car is going through.

No! I originally wanted for the car to automatically commit suicide after ending inputs! But it doesn't matter what I do, the boat will always recover it to the safe land... But then I figured that it would have made the submission more controversial, which is actually better 😈

Well, doesn't the encode need to include proof that the challenge was actually exausted? When you judged the movie, you had to make sure that the player didn't die after stopping inputs. After all, even if there are no enemy spawn zones near the boat, an enemy could still theoretically glitch out their physics and miraculously kill the player later.

Of course I could delay this movie and run it for a year, though even then we can't be sure nothing bad happens ever. Since the goal of the mode is not "survive until the time maxes out, and then X", waiting until 59:59 is not a part of that goal.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I agree with ThunderAxe here. With part of the branch being "Survival", I think it makes more sense to show the timer getting maxed out (as in, 59:59.99) in the encode, as you survive for basically an infinitely long time. Read: You survive for 59:59.99 and beyond.
