Trying to do a tas of breath of fire, a jrpg that has a ton of random encounters. This means i must near every town spend 20-25 minutes to grind before moving on. Is there any way i can pause tas, grind, and unpause it to continue the recording? Currently if i pause tas or even close it, i cannot play the game

No. Grinding is part of the TAS, and it needs to be as fast as possible. Try to manipulate RNG in order to get the encounters as soon as possible, and getting only the kind of enemies that give more exp points.

What you're really asking is playing the game without input recording then resuming input recording. Something like that won't sync the next time you replay the TAS, unless there's some sort of hacky magic with savestates. You could have a segmented TAS with multiple movies files, with the later parts starting from savestates, which is probably the only workaround for what you want.

I see, so basically i need to fix this beforehand then, to avoid excessive editing afterwards. Thanks very much peeps
