While we wait for people to say what they think about genpei, has Blaze’s comments on Banjo Kazooie changed anything?

They don't change the fact that it's a 2-hour movie. By any% I meant that it would be shorter, therefore easier to swallow in its entirety.

Problem is the nature of any% is mostly gootp consist of bee movement, which is arguably more annoying to hear the buzzing than it would be for Kazooie’s noises. The any% is also far from being done, and I dont see why have to wait till any% comes out before we can star anything. 100% is a fantastic and entertaining movie on its own, and we can always change it to any% if people at that point like it more than 100%.

I disagree with Starring something just because the (potentially better) alternative branch is not done yet. I have no real opinions otherwise as I haven't watched the movie yet. On Genpei, while the movie has quite a few good things, I didn't feel the movie blew me away. There was a little bit of grinding as well.

I still think [4137] SNES Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose! by EZGames69 in 19:49.99 should be starred. And I will quote Memory's post in the movie's thread because I couldn't have written it better.
Memory wrote:
This TAS is excellent. To me it achieves something that is very difficult to achieve in TASing, personality and style. To me this movie feels like a cartoon character bending the laws of reality to mess with their opponent, which in this case is the game itself. Think this classic Looney Tunes scene. It's ironic or perhaps fitting considering the source material of the game here. The TAS messes around with the world, defying gravity, making sounds in tune to the music, even breaking the background in the train level. I definitely laughed in response to the start of the balloon level where he flew up past the top of the screen to reach the end early. Flying can sometimes feel cheap with TASes but here it feels satisfying. It is used to great effect in the playarounds during autoscrollers, which leads me to my one singular disappointment with the TAS. I feel the playaround on the train level loses a bit of... Well... Steam, and slows down towards the end. The TAS also has some good variety to it, with a number of methods of movement on display. The more gimmicky stages didn't distract from the core gameplay, but actually added to the experience. Sure the gameplay in the American football section was fairly simplistic, but it felt superhuman jumping over all the opposing players regardless. The one potentially negative segment of the game was the roulette and the minigame chosen by the roulette after each level, but honestly, I found it kinda comical how Hamton was abused and they're honestly rather short. I would demand this movie for stars if not for the playaround slowing down, but I still feel it's strong regardless.

I agree about personality and style. Like in finest works of TAS gods (Sonikkustar, Cardboard, FODA), the playarounds feel natural and creative, fitting the game theme. The glitches also help a lot. Great ratings. Decent variety. Starred.

[4153] PSX Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation by Troye in 1:01:42.98 This movie is incredibly well crafted and entertaining. The previous movies for Tomb Raider games were also good, but alot of them felt boring in most parts, like with cutscenes, backtracking, dark rooms, etc. But this movie feels different as it contains alot more action, and the unskippable cutscenes are fairly small compared to the other games. This game also has alot more crazy stuff happening, with a heavy use of the flair glitch (which lets you clip into walls) that either spawns Lara to a higher platform, or use a jump to clip though walls (Lara being motionless during those jumps is also pretty amusing). Overall, I did not feel bored watching this movie, I was entertained throughout. I think it deserves a star.

Even then all I saw in that run was running, jumping, and occasionally wall-clipping, over and over, for an hour. I can't agree that there's enough of variety and actual action.

That one looks even less varied than the previous suggestion.

Submission #6647: RingRush's N64 Donkey Kong 64 in 26:46.83. Has an impressively long list of interesting bugs and sequence breaks. I enjoyed understanding the glitches and watching it evolve to this level. http://tasvideos.org/4192M.html

The DK gameplay looks good, but the boxing part feels like some endless unskippable cutscene.

Yea that is true. Definitely a negative against it. Nowhere near as good as the rest of it.

[4244] Genesis Crusader of Centy by Eratyx in 29:10.77 Favorite Sega movie of the year so far, it’s one of those games that gets faster and crazier the longer you watch it. All the out of bounds stuff as well as the crazy speed tricks from either taking damage from enemies or slides. It’s a wonderful example of just because a game isn’t well known, it doesn’t mean it can’t be as entertaining.

Nice run indeed, didn't get boring, also cool music in some areas. I wouldn't mind even more zips, but whatever is there combined with high speed is also good. Other opinions?

It exemplifies what a TAS is all about: Clear, defined sequence breaking, incredibly fast pace, precision at speeds that even someone unfamiliar with the game would know that you shouldn't be able to reach normally, plus it just gets better over time. Definitely deserves the Star.

I would like to suggest the star for [3048] Windows RosenkreuzStilette "Grolla" by Hetfield90 in 25:28.53 get removed. comparing the rating of the previous movie to the current movie shows a clear drop in reception. Most who rated the previous movie had also giving this newer movie a lower score. Personally watching through the newer movie, I fond a ton of it repetitive. The only areas that caught my attention was the autoscroller before the cross boss, and the section with the waterfalls where it changes gravity. But these also happen late in the run, and I dont feel like re-watching this TAS again.

Honestly I don't see why that game necessarily NEEDS a Star. Like YEAH THIS SURE IS BASED OFF MEGA MAN and it has some great music but otherwise it's really not compelling.

I would like to suggest [4225] PSX Tomb Raider II: Starring Lara Croft by Troye in 44:11.36. It has a lot of creative platforming and interesting glitches. The snowmobile segment is a real highlight too, which is just so extremely superhuman. The movie also has some really high ratings, with an average entertainment rating of 8.7.
