Game objectives
  • Emulator used: FBA-RR 0.0.7
  • Genre: Fighting
  • Uses hardest difficulty
  • Aim fastest
  • Luck manipulation
  • Take damage to save times
  • A better version than the my old
Advanced Information
  • Additional damage: do attack correct hit boxes, counter attack, back attack, critical attack. But this things are work unstable. Really to say, I'm not fully understand this damage logic, sometimes they have boost up sometimes else
  • Quick cancel run/Fake jump: while run, press jump and next frame press slash. Sometime need it for cheat AI
  • Get damage for avoid perfect congrats to save times
Notes
  • The hardest thing is must do full damage in each attack. It's for reduct attack times to save times. Many times I got not enough damage (examples ), must redo and change strategies for find a better way
  • Most strategies I used: slash then skill or skill then slash. It's depend what RNG I can have.
  • Change AI actions and do full damage in same time aren't easy. That's why 2 rounds in each match i can't let they same for get best speed.
  • Only can do one skill die with EarthQuake, because he have big hit box
  • 1st and 2nd matches game have little bonus damage, that's why they're easier more than other
  • In last match before meet final boss, game have high reduce damage, that's why I must do actions more than other
  • In final boss match, at round 2, time end is slower because I do early input
Chat
  • I think funniest moment is at Gen-An death scene, it's look like as abracadabra
  • Everytime I doing this run, I'm alway get crash emulator, total around thousand times, I want sick with this emulator. Why noone try rewrite it for stable to use?

Memory: Judging
Memory: While the details given were sparse, the TAS seems optimized enough. It seems there would be a good amount of research needed to effectively ensure optimization, and the luck manipulation seems on point to get quick kills.
While some of the response was positive, there were a few meh votes and a no vote and quite frankly I agree with them. The TAS is incredibly repetitive, using the same strategy throughout.
Accepting to Vault.
Memory: Oops forgot one important detail. Games can only obsolete cross-platform if they are deliberately identical. While the Playstation port is indeed similar, I don't know if it is indeed identical so for now it will not obsolete [2709] PSX Samurai Shodown II by NhatNM in 17:10.02.

i hate this emulator, i want to do a fatal fury run but it FUCKING SUCKS, nice run
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

Mind explaining the exact differences between the Playstation version and arcade version of this game?
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero

So I studied the two movies and see that they fight opponents in a different order, and that there was one fighter in both movies that was not fought in the other. Ukyo was only fought in arcade and Kyroshiro was only fought in the PSX version. Any explanation for the difference of order and this discrepancy between opponents?

If the selection of opponents is random, is this the optimal selection of opponents? Would some other fighter be faster to fight than a fighter in this TAS?

This was a fun watch. I really liked how fast you KOed opponents with that swinging move. Yes vote.

all character is nearly same, except EarthQuake. the important isn't at what character I'll verus, it's at RNG manipulation. I must do max damage as possible in each attack Maybe each character have little def stat different, but it's not important when I did things combine into each attack

Could you explain the choice of character and why it is better than the others?

About this game, every character have special skills and damage skills not same with any characters left. I had picked Haohmaru because only he have sword swing skill can make multi hits, deal big damage. If I can combine with counter attack/back attack + correct hit box + critical attack then I can make a huge damage for that skill Maybe each character have each attack/defense stats better Haohmaru, but with a skill he's best one Have some chracters have good combos can deal big damage, example Ukyo, but they need alot frames frames to do

thanks for accepted I think my old run should be obsolete. Because its gameplay is same 99% with this game (1% left is can use pause while playing). And that run look unoptimal with this. Don't look time ingame, because their default system time system aren't same, and PS version have laggy more than Arcade version

I compared the 2 movies fight-by-fight and overall. Most fights last slightly longer in this version, by real-time. Gameplay looks very similar indeed, though in this run it's mostly 1 or 2 attacks, and the PSX run has more "variety". Probably that variety is due to worse manipulation. I made gameplay-only clips for each fight: https://yadi.sk/d/lozYC7RXK0Jh2Q https://yadi.sk/d/w_yN5bMzQnOhCw Not sure what to do with these 2 runs, aside from setting an "official preference" on this version, since it has no loading times?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Note this version is also the original and apparently PSX version has some graphical issues. And I believe the "Variety" is indeed just worse optimization, as the author himself acknowledges.

Good point. If we consider general notes on versions, this version wins indeed: - it's the original version - it's much more popular (I couldn't even find GameFAQs or MobyGames entries for the PS port) - has no loading times Obsoleting...
