Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a platforming action/adventure game based on the popular movie of the same name. Oddly enough, there were two different versions of this game released on the NES; one developed by Software Creations and published by Taito and this one developed by NMS Software and published by UBI Soft.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: Bizhawk 2.3.1 with TAStudio
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Aims for fastest time

Memory: Judging
Memory: Optimization looks fine, most of the "lag" appears to be due to the game running at less than 60 FPS.
The game seems fairly straightforward and plain aside from the weird graphics style. While there is some positive feedback in the thread, I personally found the game rather dull and the votes aren't exactly all positive either.
Accepting to Vault.
Note to the publisher: it should be noted that the game name as entered into this submission might not follow TASVideos conventions. There was a suggestion in the thread about another version of the same game with a different subtitle but this also might not follow TASVideos naming conventions. This would need to be decided upon prior to publishing.

Why did you kill the first guy in Level 2? Why were you dodging indian's arrows by jumping? Is it slower to take damage? Otherwise, I found this TAS decent and enough entertaining. Yes vote.
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

Dimon12321, in level 2, we both are moving in same direction, so I can't jump above him without losing time. And yes, it is faster to avoid arrows by jump because damage animation starts later. This game's engine very weird, about 70% of frames are lags

I would definitely vote yes for this. I mean, how often do you see a guy get into a fist fight with another guy firing a gun at him and win? Unfortunately, I don't yet have the ability to vote on these movies, so I can't vote yes for this, but nice job on pummeling a brutal and unfair game into submission!

The title of this game is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Action Game. This differentiates it from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure, which was also released in 1989 (albeit not for the NES). This also differentiates it from the later Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, released in 1991. Yes vote!

Looks to me like there are still frames to save. I toyed around on level 1, and you can gain frames by holding the jump longer around frame 700, but letting go of Right for 1 frame to avoid clinging to the rope (you don't have to stop the jump short). And since jump speed is much faster than walking, this probably adds up to several seconds over the run.
