Hi guys. I'm new to this TAS thing, and I was interested in trying to do TAS on Pokemon Yellow, as it's such a short speedrun. About 1 minute. Can someone suggest an Emulator that works well with this? I have tried a few myself, but I just couldn't find the settings I needed to use. Hope you can help me, and have a nice day! - Computteren

There are three possibilities: LSNES (which I don't find quite user friendly personally), Bizhawk (which some people seem to have trouble getting it to run, but has a wide variety of features) and VBA-rr (which is deprecated and not quite as real-console-accurate, not good for making new TASes with). If you have the 64 bit version of Windows 7 (or newer), you can get Bizhawk 2.3. http://tasvideos.org/Bizhawk/ReleaseHistory.html Run the prereq installer before opening Bizhawk. You will need to obtain a BIOS/firmware and place it in Bizhawk's Firmware directory in order to start up GB games. (Can't help you with this part) Config your input and hotkeys, load your game and see how it goes

Hi :) I have Bizhawk, I have the Firmware, I have the game and I'm about 800 frames in. But In this video of Sethbling making a TAS for Super Mario World, he has a very nice window, where he can easily select inputs. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFvrZSjAtFY How do I get this window? - Comp

I believe you refer to the Wiki: BizHawk emulator's TAStudio which can be accessed from the menu under Tools > 5th entry.

I have done everything up to where I need to "corrupt my save" by hitting "Save" and then soft resetting when the text is gone. Problem is, I can't soft reset in time / I don't know how to do it in time. Any hints? - Comp

I don't see save corruption in the originally linked Livestream -- Creating a Frame-Perfect Speedrun for Super Mario World video. Are you referring to this one? Link to video If that's the case, the description has a link for the manual and it requires you to load the "premade" corrupted save file by SethBling.
