^not sure if it helps, but when I release the barrel on frame 6530 it successfully opens the bonus, though I am still a good distance away from it. When I release the barrel the sound of a kremling being killed plays, not sure if this is expected or perhaps related to the reason it doesn't work on the frame you want it to. I've also reached the bonus area with different values of 000D4D while hitting the midway barrel at slower speeds, could be related to how it gets scrolled off screen

I should have mentioned that yes, it's possible to open the bonus from that far away. But not only will it give the wrong value to where the bonus will take me, it's also a huge timewaster. It has to be opened right next to the bonus, without the Mankey being involved at all. The midway barrel thing was interesting to me however... I can't see any direct logic to why that would change anything though =D. Were you able to get the value of the bonus for 000D4D that way?

Well I don't know what value I am supposed to be looking for. All I wanted to see is if I could reach the bonus with a different value besides 0x23. I watched the youtube encode of the current run and noticed that the way the barrel moved after you hit the midway point was slightly different then in this WIP. So I just randomly tried slowing down at that point and yup I got a different pattern of values on my way there. What value are you looking for? Do you know why a kremgling death sound plays once I release the barrel?

The value you want is 20. If you get a different value, but can still open the bonus, it's useless, because it can only be done from far away. The only effect that should happen is opening the bonus, no enemies can be killed that way. The reason why you hear an enemy getting killed is because when you are holding the barrel that Mankey throws, value 35, the barrel will hit Mankey and kill him. This happens when you release Y with the invis barrel, then if you keep moving forward, the bonus can spawn, changes the value of D4D and opens the bonus with the throw.

hmm ok, I will do some experimenting and see if I can get that then. So far going slower there is the only way I could change the pattern. Nothing I did after that point seemed to have any effect whatsoever. But 20 is one of the values I at least pretty commonly see, so getting it seems like it should be possible. EDIT: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/29037157216232902 Here is a file that correctly gets into the bonus. You can see that I slowed down at 2 places. The first is at the midway barrel and the second is right before the bonus. The first seems to impact the cycle I get on, the second is just waiting a few frame ofr the correct value to show up once I get a good cycle. I don't know really what's going on, this is just my random testing but I hope it gives you some insights.

I was stuck in Bouncy Bonanza, 2-3, for a long time, being unable to bypass the first bee after the midway barrel, so I put the project on hold for a long time. Until picking it up again and found a method to proceed. Yay. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/31763216475747676

Yes, the Any All TAS is being done by me, no I don't have any WIPs yet, still on the fence about croctopus chase tho :/ I'm a beginner TASer... "Just don't do it." But it's faster D: This TAS will feature TEN different faster SJRs. Speedrun uses 3. I hope to improve on the loopy SJR too. I have very minor experience with lua. Just the basics really. I wrote a alternative RAM watch tool for convenience. I made it so it displays things like speed relevant to which kong is in front. Any tips are appreciated, and I will have my W1 WIP done soon!

I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.
